twunty fifteen (imago), Saturday, 7 November 2015 12:29 (nine years ago)

can i have brown sauce?

John Dope Assos (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 7 November 2015 12:41 (nine years ago)

condiments, accompaniments, recipe &c entirely up to you

Tell The BTLs to Fuck Off (wins), Saturday, 7 November 2015 13:53 (nine years ago)

i'm finding this idea grosser than i initially thought i wd and i'm not sure whether it's the idea of consuming bits of myself or the idea of consuming human blood that's off-putting because i do love pigs' blood no question

John Dope Assos (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 7 November 2015 13:57 (nine years ago)

Wouldn't this be like drinking your own urine?

Does anyone know the Klingon for T'ai Chi? (snoball), Saturday, 7 November 2015 14:27 (nine years ago)

It would, if you drink the urine of other animals. Otherwise, no.

Tell The BTLs to Fuck Off (wins), Saturday, 7 November 2015 16:32 (nine years ago)

with the question as it stands i guess i wd have to answer "i would" but i feel like the qualifiers "willingly" and "with relish" shd've made an appearance as options somewhere

John Dope Assos (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 7 November 2015 17:33 (nine years ago)

I already said you could pick your condiments

Tell The BTLs to Fuck Off (wins), Saturday, 7 November 2015 17:57 (nine years ago)

Making such a sausage would be utterly pointless and foolish. But once it was made I can't see any valid reason not to eat it myself. After all, people will suck the blood from a cut on their own finger and not think twice about it.

Aimless, Saturday, 7 November 2015 18:03 (nine years ago)

aimless raises a maybe crucial point: would it make a difference to voters if a no vote meant such a sausage would be eaten by someone else? would it matter who?

denies the existence of dark matter (difficult listening hour), Saturday, 7 November 2015 18:27 (nine years ago)

important thread

voted yes obv

droit au butt (Euler), Saturday, 7 November 2015 19:02 (nine years ago)

Yes, as a vegetarian it would make a nice alternative to soya.

Al Ain Delon (ShariVari), Saturday, 7 November 2015 19:07 (nine years ago)

Nutritionally speaking, it would be a net loss, because cooking the sausage would destroy some nutrients.

Aimless, Saturday, 7 November 2015 19:25 (nine years ago)

nobody needed that explained to them

Tell The BTLs to Fuck Off (wins), Saturday, 7 November 2015 19:26 (nine years ago)

you're right. seems like common knowledge.

regular blood or menstrual blood?

sarahell, Saturday, 7 November 2015 20:10 (nine years ago)

see "recipe" clause above

Tell The BTLs to Fuck Off (wins), Saturday, 7 November 2015 20:22 (nine years ago)

I think I would (if not, it would be to avoid having needles stuck in me rather than grossout factor) but that picture on the BBC News article is the exact opposite of enticing

mark s, Friday, 2 March 2018 17:26 (seven years ago)

It looks like you would have to cook at a very high temperature to eradicate any blood diseases.

Yerac, Friday, 2 March 2018 17:26 (seven years ago)

But if it is your own blood, surely it is safe to re-infect yourself with your very own native blood diseases, as opposed to nasty foreign ones.

A is for (Aimless), Friday, 2 March 2018 17:28 (seven years ago)

I don't think you need to worry about transmitting diseases to yourself? iana haematologist tho

xp

scotti pruitti (wins), Friday, 2 March 2018 17:29 (seven years ago)

F# A# (∞), Friday, 2 March 2018 17:42 (seven years ago)

the theory that eating something that's already come out of yourself can't harm you seems fairly easy to disprove

I eat my own blood forever.

Screames Fartpoop, Friday, 2 March 2018 22:23 (seven years ago)

is this going to be like women eating their own placenta thing?

F# A# (∞), Friday, 2 March 2018 22:32 (seven years ago)

I've now devised a really good performance art piece based on this idea that touches on scottish national identity and biopolitics. just need to fart out an artist's statement. here's the idea:

Name of piece: Man is the pie that bakes and eats himself

I take the stage, on which there is a doctor's office bed (which i lay on) and small worktop with a hot-plate, a chopping board, some cutlery, a plate etc., and the ingredients to black pudding that are not blood and fat - oatmeal, onion etc.

Medical professionals come in with their various apparatuses and proceed to give me liposuction and to collect some of my blood.

I then use some of the fat and blood to make black pudding

then i eat it.

the end

khat person (jim in vancouver), Friday, 2 March 2018 22:38 (seven years ago)

I agree with that. maybe two paychecks.

unpaid intern at the darvo institute (Simon H.), Friday, 4 September 2020 23:03 (four years ago)

not sure. I mean I eat black pudding, would it really be that different?

Anti-Cop Ponceortium (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Friday, 4 September 2020 23:22 (four years ago)

i would probably do it

contorted filbert (harbl), Saturday, 5 September 2020 00:05 (four years ago)

Wait, what? This is a lie. Of course I would.

scampo italiano (gyac), Saturday, 5 September 2020 00:07 (four years ago)

i felt like i hardly knew you.

Yerac, Saturday, 5 September 2020 00:09 (four years ago)

watched a video of a British dude making blood sausage, seriously felt like throwing up when he started pumping it through the casing or whatever 🤢

brimstead, Saturday, 5 September 2020 00:23 (four years ago)

black pudding owns

especially when you eat it with halloumi

scampo italiano (gyac), Saturday, 5 September 2020 00:29 (four years ago)

i like all blood sausage types but the asian ones. I think I prefer it softer and less spice? Now I feel like I need to analyse this while I can.

Yerac, Saturday, 5 September 2020 00:39 (four years ago)

I've only had black pudding a couple of times but I feel like I perhaps haven't had good black pudding, it was at a greasy spoon caff in Walthamstow, and it was... OK? but not really much to write home about. tasted kind of rusky.

CP Radio Gorgeous (Colonel Poo), Saturday, 5 September 2020 00:51 (four years ago)

If you can get hold of some Clonakilty, i think you’ll like it. Weirdly it’s made from beef rather than pork. Might be sold near you! https://www.clonakiltyblackpudding.ie/united-kingdom/?radius=9999

scampo italiano (gyac), Saturday, 5 September 2020 09:43 (four years ago)

most black pudding I've had is really nothing special, there's this scottish mini black pudding you can get in sainsbury's which is pretty good though.

You bite your lip, you taste your own blood, what's the difference?

Guayaquil (eephus!), Saturday, 5 September 2020 14:24 (four years ago)

The difference is that the sausage is more delicious

Gab B. Nebsit (wins), Saturday, 5 September 2020 14:27 (four years ago)

gyac, i found an irish butcher grocer that is somewhat near that I will check out. they do those irish breakfast sandwiches too it seems.

Yerac, Saturday, 5 September 2020 15:38 (four years ago)

Nah. I like blood sausage but not that much.

pomenitul, Saturday, 5 September 2020 15:40 (four years ago)

if you used one's own blood in a vegan sausage that would probably be best use.

Yerac, Saturday, 5 September 2020 15:41 (four years ago)

Omgggggg please liveblog this

scampo italiano (gyac), Saturday, 5 September 2020 16:07 (four years ago)

it is kinda funny to think you'd be more comfortable eating a sausage made from someone else's blood than your own
