So we're off to Dallas on Thursday, where's the best produce, barbecue and all things food related top be found?

No mention of barbecue, but there's this wine and food festival going on: Dallas Wine and Food 2005. I never spent much time in Dallas proper, mostly in the surrounds.

Up in Clear Lake (looks about 30 min northeast of Dallas proper) there's a crawdad festival on 4/2.

Down in Huntsville (about an hour down I-45 toward Houston) I had some excellent steaks at the Country Inn III Steakhouse. At the time I was there, the town had one college and 5 or 6 prisons. The inmates raised beef cattle and did an exceptional job. There were no Country Inn I and II to be found.

The Amon Carter museum has a most excellent museum of cowboy and western art if your into that sort of cultural activity - it's on the road over to Fort Worth.

Have a wonderful trip - hope you find some good eatin'!

Thanks Jaq, we're looking for some good steaks so that's a good one to bear in mind. We're visiting Vic's sister and her husband over there so they've got a few favourites, of course we'll report back.

also we have to go to the dallas world aquarium, it looks incredible.

I think Sonny Bryans seems to be the barbecue place to go.
