Green enchilada sauce

A first attempt at this last week produced some palatable, but odd results. Does anybody have a tried and tested recipe?

Also, if using tomatillos, what's the best prep method? I don't think I've seen fresh over here, just canned.

Hmmm. I don't really use a recipe, just chop tomatillos, onion, little garlic, jalepenos or serranos. Boil it up or leave it fresh, finish it with some salt, a squeeze of lime, some cilantro. We get fresh tomatillos over here; I've never tried the canned.

I used to make this all the time. Don't have a recipe anymore though Jaq's sounds right.

I would simmer the tomatillos, along with some chicken stock, for a couple of hours.
