I've scorched the bottom of my asparagus steamer

Well, my brand new All-Clad steamer is now blackened on the inside bottom after I let the water cook out of it. I soaked it in soapy water and nothing. I put some white vinegar in it- it's still soaking. Anything else I can do to remove the blackness?

It really steamed asparagus perfectly too.

It's stainless on the inside, so try Barkeeper's Friend. The stuff is magic.
