I want cheese and nuts

wheres a good cheap bulk place to shop in nyc??

East Village Cheese on Third Avenue near 9th Street always has several miscellaneous imported cheeses for $3/lb. They're usually plenty ripe too. For bulk nuts nearby, stroll down Third Ave to 4th Street and make a left -- the East Village Food Co-op has good stuff. Or hit up Kalustyan's on Lexington and 28th -- 124 kinds of nuts.

east village cheese is like the crazy eddie's of dairy retail. the last time i was in, they had taleggio for $1/lb.

definitely go to kalustyan's for your bulk nut and spice needs.
