best inexpensive knives

please recommend me some quality budget knives, i just had two snap in half in succession trying to chop a carrot (lol sonned)

I got a great plastic handled Wustof paring knife at one of those kitcheny factory outlets for $5 - it's wicked sharp. If there's a Ross or TJ Maxx near you, check out their kitchen stuff - I got some fancy french steak knives for super-cheap at one, and they usually have chef's knives about. Henckels and Wustof both make lines of lower cost but good quality knives.
