I stupidly bought a promo pack of cheese. Now it was cheap but it's about 750 grams of grated cheese. No way can I gobble that up in one sitting. So does anyone have any good recipees which use grated cheese? I'll probably make mac'n'cheese but I can't really make a dish with more than half a kilo of it. I could but as I'm the only one in the family who really loves this stuff, I'd explode.

It's so much better to eat grated cheese than ungrated cheese. I guess it's like soda water v uncarbonated water.

neither 'ungrated' not 'uncarbonated' are spell check friendly.
what kind of cheese is it? i love to make eggplant/aubergine gratins, but if you've got cheddar cheese then it probably wouldn't work.

Grated cheese freezes pretty well if you wrap it as air-tight as possible.

No, really. Two quiches with bacon, Gouda, baby spinach, and some sliced parm-reggiano on top. So good for keeping warm and fed.

Note to self: ALWAYS sautee onions in bacon grease.

Make a gratin of some kind. My ex and I used to make zucchini/squash gratins all through the winter.

All you would ever lose freezing cheese is some of the water therein, btw. If it's a hard or at least firm cheese and you intend to cook with it, freeze it without worry.

zucchini are courgettes, right? i think you just slice'em, pour some water 'n' oil over it and then cheese. you put it in the oven for maybe 20 minutes?
is that vague enough? (i looked it up in my trusty cook book. sounds yum!)

I half peel them lengthwise in alternating strips, slice them into half inch thick rounds and steam them, then put them in a buttered Pyrex with some finely sliced onion and cover them in a layer of grated gruyere and bake high until the cheese forms a nice, brown gratin.

Also, before the cheese, season with thyme.
Sounds amazing; how long do you steam them for?
