This is a shame, Gourmet's been a great resource for ages and Ruth Reichl has remained one of my favorite food writers.

I can see canceling modern bride but when they axe elegant bride they have gone too far

bummer on multiple levels. even though I let my subscription lapse a couple years ago some of my cherished recipes came from Gourmet.

making the food-shopping rounds on manhattan's upper west side last week I saw Ruth Reichl wandering around -- twice in one afternoon. she looked more hippie-ish and eccentric than I expected.
