or on Nintendo platforms, I guess

Here's what I've been playing on the couch* with my friends lately:

Towerfall: Ascension
Sportsfriends
Mario Kart 8
Crawl
Nidhogg

What I'm hype for:

Sportsball (not to be confused with...)
Videoball
Smash Bros. for Wii U I guess

*metaphorically, I personally don't have a couch

Looking forward to finally giving Sportsfriends a legit whirl when my brother visits (tried playing it with my girlfriend but she has a roughly 45 second threshold of tolerance with all non-SingStar games).

tbh my favorite game on Sportsfriends is Get On Top!, which is one of the "secret" ones

Towerfall, Sportsfriends, Videoball, and Mario Kart 8 all seconded.

I can't get into Nidhogg for some reason.

I play local multiplayer GTA V, borderlands 2, mass effect 3, red dead redemption etc. by actually bringing four systems together. It's the best. The first game we did was Left 4 Dead.

I would classify that as a lan party tbh but yeah sounds like a good time

three weeks pass...

Sportsball is out for Wii U and is a blast even in 3p FFA, I expect 2v2 is the sweet spot. Pretty polished game for $10, maybe would've liked to see better backgrounds for the stadia but as it is you get 10 stages, 16ish different birds, a bunch of game modes…did I mention birds?
