Into The Breach: Is this game a bit perfect?

Starting this thread because I picked this up for my daughter's Switch in the sale and am startled at how involving it is - even though I find it so tricky. It matched Trials HD in the "Fuck I lost again, let's restart" stakes, and seems so involving and perfectly balanced. Anyone else played/playing Into The Breach?

I played a little bit and really liked it but stopped for some reason, maybe because I don't have enough big tactics brain to do well and felt kinda stupid? I should probably come back to it and embrace my stupid.

I liked it and played it for a while, but it was no FTL.

it was top-five game in point and click '18, where calzino also said that it was no FTL ;-)

I definitely don't have tactical brain and I am getting my ass kicked so much but it is so satisfying and also kind of chill in a way that I don't mind.

FTL looks awesome, and I am in some way glad it is not on Switch and I don't play games on my laptop as I could see it easily swallowing my life. I have played the phone version of the board game Galaxy Trucker at least once a day since lockdown and I could totally see FTL absorbing me in a similar way.

This is an all time favorite of mine, even though I'm kinda bad at it. The design is just so clean. When I first started playing it I was so obsessed I would see the grid when I'd close my eyes--the only time in my life I'd ever had the "tetris effect" with a game.

I'd really love a new title from this studio

I spent much of yesterday recovering from staying up till 3am the previous night to hit a deadline and then getting up dead early to rewrite, and am shuddering to think how many hours I spent endlessly playing this game in that weird hinterland of exhaustion.

this game is incredible but it’s quite fatiguing

I'm still trying to beat it in Normal, have not succeeded but cannot stop trying. Bought FTL too, in the sale, and while it's great I can already see not wanting to sacrifice the mental real estate that would be necessary to actually be good at it.

also cannot believe I started this thread two years ago what is happening
