He did amazing things on an 8-bit system, and then went balls out and wrote an actual opera, "Aria di Mezzo Carattere," on the SNES. How great was it when the technology finally caught up with him and we could hear his music on Playstation 2?
He's got a metal band called The Black Mages that performs his Final Fantasy songs, which I would recommend listening to if you are a huge fan, or if you really, really like electric guitar.
Are you excited to see what he does in Advent Children? Do you like the rock/orchestral rerecordings or prefer the originals? What tracks/themes/games are your favorites? This may just be nostalgia talking, but personally I love the NES midi stuff. This song, for example, never fails to fill me with a profound sense of triumph.
