for a while i was obsessed with a doom roguelike, then i got a chess roguelike i can't find the link for, there's a quake text adventure, any others?

there's something i really like about these - well, the doom one - the way it forces you to re-evaluate your knowledge of the old game in the different context seems to place the player in a very interesting position. somehow. i don't know.

There are text adventure versions (some more literal than others) of various video games; I think there was a contest a while back to make them.
