thinking of buying a game today, but I don't really know what to get. or whether to go for ps2 or pc.

i'd go for one of the game review aggregators, such as:

www.gametab.com

and then follow it up with some research at Gamefaqs.com

years ago, IGN was pretty accurate. Since all the corporate buy-outs & cross-marketing deals, tho, I'm not so sure.

I like gamespot most of the time. Eurogamer.net is okay too, though sometimes i think it does a bad impression of being edge on the 'net.

The GAMEFAQS reader reviews are all generally badly written by teenagers, but there are so many of them it's easy to piece together an idea of whether you're going to like the game or not. Gamespot often does video reviews which can be handy.

what's that GUN game like?

I found it rather boring. GTA in the old west with a pretty strict linear plot. Nice graphics, though.
