I'm looking at you, Capcom.

Playing UN Squad. Stealth enemies (aka homing weapons don't work) are PURPLE. Many shooter games have red enemies drop powerups... 1943, etc.

Flashing red areas on bosses are WEAK POINTS

Red = damage or berserker (sometimes +HP), yellow = invincible, green = poison, blue = magic related

yeah! like in final fight you'll be beating up all these lame dudes, like three at a time, but then another guy that's completely identical except for the color of his clothes walks on and you know right away he's really tough.

i also like getting the different colored clothes in zelda 3. green is default and red is the strongest. i can't remember if there's another one in between.

xpost
yeah mk was huge on that! weren't there like 5 separate ninja characters that were pallete swaps by mk3? ermac was the coolest.

heavily palette-switched bestiaries never get enough respect.

In Minish Cap I don't think you get to change clothes! You just run around being green the whole game. Which considering it was developed by Capcom is strange! I mean, Mega Man, for crying out loud.

Then again you also run around being green the whole game in Bionic Commando. Which had the simplest color scheme in the world: White = Neutral, Green = Friendly, Red = Enemy. Hooray!!
