A quick google search reveals that it is Adibou, a character in European educational video games for small children. According to my atrophying French skills, he stars in such games as "Adibou and the Energy Thieves," "Adibou and the Green Shadow," and a bunch of stuff where you learn math and music.

Rayman = big French success story, you doof. First big title for Ubisoft, as a result of which they're now making Prince of Persia/Myst/Splinter Cell. I wonder if anyone suggested putting Sam Fisher on a stamp.
