SEQUEL PLZ

From the social 'tards at joystiq, again, a link to retrogaming's 10 Games That Actually NEED A Sequel, which honestly, I could care less about most of these, and the begging for a 'real' Chrono Trigger sequel is a bit too fanboy even for me. Personally I wouldn't ask square enix for a sequel to anything at this point, they'd just bollocks it up.

I'll start things off with my umpteenth request for a Bionic Commando sequel, done up all Alien Hominid/Metal Slug stylee with hijackable vehicles and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep your jagged, shiny 3-D camerawank off my beloved gameplay. Or I'll punch you in the dick with my go-go-gadget arm. And shoot you in the face with a spherical rocket while you hunch over in pain.

Solar Jetman. Blithely careening between gravity wells in space could benefit from some awesome (2-d!) graphics.

I would also like a totally tricked-out version of Scorched Earth.

Did River City Ransom ever get a sequel? The superdeformed Kunio-kun character sprites must stay. The 90 character passwords can go.

It got a cover version for the GBA, as did Super Dodge Ball. Kunio works for "Million Corp." now, who is published by Atlus. Which just makes me imagine some sort of Kunio version of Disgaea, but that would be too nice to ever actually happen.

I would also like a totally tricked-out version of Scorched Earth.

There's some pretty interesting 3d clones of this.....

While we're on that topic, how about a follow-on to Worms Armageddon that isn't stupid puzzle-game or ugly 3D bullshit?

I could go half-in and compromise on cel-shaded isometric terrain with sprites or cel-shaded units. But still, how bad can you really fuck something up, Team 17?

TOMBOT, Tuesday, 3 January 2006 20:34 (nineteen years ago)

Skies of Arcadia? Are you shitting me?

the obvious answer is Vagrant Story btw.

Grim Fandango and Kid Icarus would be appreciated. Beyond Good and Evil? Was not as good as anyone said it was.

King Arthur's World

Did the lemmingsesque 2-d real-time strategy game die a decade ago or what?

Something like this would be great for the DS.

That new Lemmings is so on the wrong console. Polysix OTM - touch screen Lemmings would be absolutely incredible.
