-Joystiq -- daily gamer news
-Game Politics.com -- covers when Politicos(mainly American) interact with video games (e.g. jack thompson shit)
-the news page at Double Fine, which Tim Schafer pretty much just uses as his personal blog.
Also, points go towards the funnier blogs here.

I check Mitch Krpata's Insult Swordfighting most every day, along with many czn links to above

Does Rock Paper Shotgun count? It's pretty much just four guys writing about the games that they're not paid to write about elsewhere (or in Kieron Gillen's case, not as thinkily).

Oh yeah, Mitch Krpata is great! Plus he linked me recently, giving me a WROLD RECORD 59 HITS ONE DAY WAO

I like Krpata's stuff too. RPS is probably the best PC-focused gaming blog I've read. Good suggestions, cozwn. Here are some more:
Chris Kohler's still very entertaining, and some of the other contributors (inc. Jean Snow linked above) are good, too.http://blog.wired.com/games/
Sometimes too much of a shill for Rock Band and no comments section, but often good scoops.http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/
Indie coverage. A lot of nice finds, especially on the Flash side.http://tigsource.com/http://playthisthing.com/
GameSetLinks is a must-skim every time.http://www.gamesetwatch.com/
Fun, niche DS coverage.http://tinycartridge.com/
Some good insight from here like many of the above linked games writers, though some of the stuff focused on games criticism and the media itself bores me.http://etelmik.blogspot.com/
David Sirlin's blog - much quality writing on the nature of competition. His personality in writing alternatively appeals and annoys.http://www.sirlin.net/
The Escapist - not quite as consistent as it once was and the site design now, ugh, but, still a lot of good?http://www.escapistmagazine.com/

Forgot this one - Jeremy Parish's blog has become a nice group of decent writers.http://www.gamespite.net/
― Nhex, Wednesday, 26 November 2008 08:54 (seventeen years ago)
Jean Snow doesn't write for the wired game | life blog anymore, btw. I like Kohler, but the other bloggers left on there are worthless.
Parish is decent (love retronauts), but the other folks on there are mostly unreadable sycophants.
I do like tiny cartridge
Also Rock Paper Shotgun - who don't seem to be covering games so much as writing about the games they really love (at least that's when the site is at its best - see the recent article on Outrun: Coast 2 Coast). Site can be bad for my wallet.

I like stephen totilo too
― czn (cozwn), Wednesday, 26 November 2008 21:31 (seventeen years ago)
Jeff - you're pretty harsh. For Wired - Nate Ralph isn't what I'd call worthless, though I'm not going to defend Cavalli. The GL videos are stupid but entertaining to me some reason (I don't know what it is about Kohler and his hamminess), although I can't sit through more than a couple minutes of a more straight video series like Retronauts.
On Parish's site, there are many sycophants in the forums and comments sections, but the ones who have stepped up to write articles have been good, far better than I would've expected from such a community. Also, it's actually got an overall positive tone, which is refreshing. And I think Parish's writing is still for the most part quite good.

https://aftermath.site/kat-abughazaleh-interview-twitch-stream-chicago-congress-indictment/
All Abughazaleh can do is meet the moment with the seriousness it deserves, which is both as much as she can muster and none whatsoever. During the mid-November FNAF stream, she made the kind of wager characteristic of someone with nothing left to lose: “If we raise $20,000 in one stream, I will read a paragraph from my One Direction fan fiction that I published in middle school.”
