Rolling thread for games we have JUST BEATEN and FINISHED and CRUSHED, they have lost and we have WON, we are the sodding best.

Champions World Soccer 1994, you are staggeringly, remorsely, almost beautifully bad, as though the thought of cultured and silvery minds had gone into making you as direly poor as you could ever dream of being. At every point from your menu screen with no meaningful options to dismal, boring matches to (lack of) end sequence, yours is an exquisite contempt for anyone who might play you, might play football, might play games. You cost me twenty pence and took thirty-plus hours of my life away. As of today, Columbia 6 Germany 1 in the final, I never, ever have to play you again.

Your turn!

Gravel Puzzleworth, you have a fantastic taste in games.

Another World, or Out of This World, as you seem to be calling yourself nowadays, you can't beat me. Every time you challenge me, dare me, to play you, see if I can complete you, I do. I'll beat you in twenty minutes if you want me to, and I won't die once. But don't worry, I won't stop playing you, ever. Because that would be ridiculous.

My misspent youth left me with little but the ability to beat the shit out of Master of Orion any place, any time.

polyphonic can you do 1941?

I'm pretty good at it but I probably would have to burn through about 10 quarters to beat it at the arcade.

You can cycle through the same 5 bosses every second level all you like Shaolin's Road but I have a squillion lives and I can play this shit FOREVER (except lunchtime is over and I have to go back to school).

dear tony hawk series (1,2,3,4,THUG,THUG2,THAW),

i may not have beaten all of you yet but I think we can agree that there isn't a combo line i cant master in a few tries. manuals, grinds, reverts. you think i can't pull those off in one combo?? WRONG. consider yrself pwnd.

My favorite thing in Tony Hawk is to just cycle through manual tricks in the middle of a flat area. It looks like some spaz playing hackeysack.

polyphonic (polyphonic), Tuesday, 28 February 2006 18:00 (nineteen years ago)

perfect manual cheat, right? thats nice for some high scores. get it up to 30x and go out for dinner.

sunny successor (katharine), Tuesday, 28 February 2006 18:04 (nineteen years ago)

No I don't use cheats. The flatland tricks are just really easy to do, I think.

polyphonic (polyphonic), Tuesday, 28 February 2006 18:29 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, that's how I managed the highscores, possibly due to playing it on the GC means that most of the off-rail transitions are incredibly fiddly.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 28 February 2006 19:18 (nineteen years ago)

You cheat, sunny? Then your pwnage doesn't count!
