So yeah, they're probably worth more than you think, and I bet you change your mind about reselling it once you've got your hands on it.
Still, UK retail will be no more than current UK normal DS retail price, I betcha. They'll just release these and drop the price of the old ones. That's what they always do. They'd struggle to get away with anything else.

the first regular ds i bought was wonky, i had to bring it back. kept shutting off for no reason!
― s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 17 July 2006 18:08 (nineteen years ago)
Every time I drop my DS or knock it off of a table (which fortunately doesn't happen very often) I think of your video of a poorly, cranky one :(

Easily? Dude, give them a break, you plugged a 110 volt appliance into a 240 volt supply. You'd get fried!
(Sorry, but I used to work in a videogames shop where people would do this all the time, then come back to us and try to claim it was our fault and that we owed them a refund).
― JimD (JimD), Tuesday, 18 July 2006 08:26 (nineteen years ago)
I've read loads of good things about Nintendo customer service lately! This is quite good, and there's better in the comments - http://www.jacobian.org/2006/jul/10/bad-dog/
my video of a poorly cranky one? huh?
Perhaps it was another ILGer, but there was a video of a DS that flickered on/off/on/off all the time, making nasty noises.
― melton mowbray's APOCALYPTO! (adr), Tuesday, 18 July 2006 09:21 (nineteen years ago)
I'm not even sure that's what the supply was, though. Another dude was charging is iPod with it all week, and my friend's GBA SP didn't work with it but didn't get fried.
Anyway it actually came showed up in the mail yesterday and works great.

Sheesh. I don't want to get excessively harsh here, but if you're going around plugging things into outlets without even checking what comes out of them first, you're very lucky you haven't had everything fried, including your fingers.
Still, it's fixed now, so that's all good.
― JimD (JimD), Tuesday, 18 July 2006 12:55 (nineteen years ago)
