JW (ex machina), Thursday, 20 April 2006 18:31 (twenty years ago)

chinatown fair on mott = win

sleep (sleep), Thursday, 20 April 2006 18:34 (twenty years ago)

that's the one, I think!

JW (ex machina), Thursday, 20 April 2006 18:37 (twenty years ago)

Yeah I went there once, it was awesome. Maybe we can get Laurel to come too if we tell her there's DDR.

Laura H. (laurah), Thursday, 20 April 2006 18:39 (twenty years ago)

What does it have? Lots of old school 80s arcade stuff, but also new stuff, shooters, fighters etc. DDR.

Laura H. (laurah), Thursday, 20 April 2006 18:46 (twenty years ago)

i've been there. At least it USED to have DDR, but only one machine and it was always crowded and you had to put your tokens down and wait turns. For DDR it's better to find something out on the 7 train in queens, but then you StreetFighter etc people wd be out of luck.

Laurel (Laurel), Thursday, 20 April 2006 19:31 (twenty years ago)

Jon and I are already going to the Nintendo store (not this but) next weekend. Maybe arcade meetup too?

Laura H. (laurah), Thursday, 20 April 2006 19:35 (twenty years ago)

Could do. Will skip Nintendo store and meet you in Park Salope?

Laurel (Laurel), Thursday, 20 April 2006 19:37 (twenty years ago)

Aight. Can we do this on a Sunday?

Laura H. (laurah), Thursday, 20 April 2006 20:11 (twenty years ago)

Dunno. Before we go out we should call arcade and ask re Sunday hours.

Laurel (Laurel), Thursday, 20 April 2006 20:20 (twenty years ago)

I could be down with this if it weren't creepy.
I've never played proper ddr, just th' home version.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Friday, 21 April 2006 06:57 (twenty years ago)

Jimmy Mod: My theme is DEATH (The Famous Jimmy Mod), Friday, 21 April 2006 14:00 (twenty years ago)

I've never played DDR either. I'll try it, but I think I'm more excited about classic games. Do any of these places have Arkanoid, or original MB? Or Rampage?

Laura H. (laurah), Friday, 21 April 2006 14:00 (twenty years ago)

JW (ex machina), Friday, 21 April 2006 14:37 (twenty years ago)

If any of these places have Rampage I will WALK to NYC to join in.

Allyzay Rofflesbot (allyzay), Friday, 21 April 2006 14:38 (twenty years ago)

We have them too in our suburban malls

JW (ex machina), Thursday, 27 April 2006 18:41 (twenty years ago)

I fuckin hate those places, one time we were kicked out because Tom was wearing a soccer jersey and they thought we were starting gang beef. Yah whatevs D&B, bunch of skinny ass white hipsters in SOCCER regalia and their corpwhore friends are gonna take on those polo fags and the bachelorette party in the corner. WTF? This was in Maryland, maybe Maryland gangs are really weird.

Allyzay Rofflesbot (allyzay), Thursday, 27 April 2006 23:08 (twenty years ago)

Rockville Pike is plagued by bands of roaming soccer hooligans.

Any DDR or ITG spot in Queens area?

Cheese, Wednesday, 17 May 2006 04:50 (twenty years ago)

We never did this. When are we going to arcade?

Laurah (laurah), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 11:03 (twenty years ago)

they should still have rampage there, go at night.

kephm (kephm), Wednesday, 17 May 2006 22:33 (twenty years ago)

br0caine and rampage

JW (ex machina), Thursday, 18 May 2006 17:53 (twenty years ago)

Best Queens spot for DDR used to be weird storefront place in Long Island City but that was years ago, I doubt it's still open. Wonder what they did with the machines, they were all bootleg K-pop versions.

Laurel (Laurel), Monday, 22 May 2006 21:09 (twenty years ago)

WE DON'T WANT TO PLAY DDR

JW (ex machina), Monday, 22 May 2006 21:52 (twenty years ago)

sleep (sleep), Thursday, 8 June 2006 04:14 (nineteen years ago)

post pics, you dicks

kingfish du lac (kingfish 2.0), Thursday, 8 June 2006 05:42 (nineteen years ago)

Chinatown fair is awesome. I recently got my ass handed me there at SNK vs. Capcom.

Though not SFII Turbo.

I hear Friday nights are nuts there.

Laurah (laurah), Thursday, 8 June 2006 11:35 (nineteen years ago)

I never played the SF2 edition where you had "Cammy"

lord pooperton (ex machina), Thursday, 8 June 2006 13:12 (nineteen years ago)

i'm in nyc this weekend, i would be interested to know of the locations of some of the arcade places you speak of on here.

thx

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 4 July 2006 08:40 (nineteen years ago)

and more importantly what sort of games do they have

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 4 July 2006 08:46 (nineteen years ago)

(i'm aware nobody is going to be awake right now over there but i'll bump this thread later if I need to)

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 4 July 2006 08:50 (nineteen years ago)

chinatown fair

that's the only one i know offhand. the mix of games listed near the top of the thread is still accurate.

sleep (sleep), Thursday, 6 July 2006 18:19 (nineteen years ago)

i went down to chinatown fair but i got fed up of waiting for it to open up. i went over to Coney Island instead, a bit meh for arcades though.

Riding the Cyclone was nice though, especially when two ladies almost came to blows over who got to ride in the front carriage.

Ste (Fuzzy), Wednesday, 12 July 2006 08:13 (nineteen years ago)

"to live and game in ny"

sleep (sleep), Sunday, 16 July 2006 02:01 (nineteen years ago)

it sucks that you couldn't see chinatown fair! when did you get there?

sleep (sleep), Sunday, 16 July 2006 02:03 (nineteen years ago)

five years pass...

When was the last time you went to an arcade? Do they still exist? Seems like a poor value. Plus who carries change?

Jeff, Wednesday, 28 March 2012 13:49 (fourteen years ago)

montreal used to have tons on ste-catherine up until, i dunno, 7 years ago, but now there's only i think one left.

A Little Princess btw (s1ocki), Wednesday, 28 March 2012 15:40 (fourteen years ago)

& even then that one on ste-catherine mostly has driving, rhythm, fighting games now -- although there are a couple of shmups still, and a couple of mediocre pinball tables. i go every once in a while when i need to play pinball.

Alderaan Duran (Will M.), Wednesday, 28 March 2012 19:21 (fourteen years ago)

did anyone visit Chinatown Fair since it reopened?

Nhex, Thursday, 29 March 2012 02:59 (fourteen years ago)
