Which games store had the most obviously stoned employees?

Was it the local Gamestop/Funcoland? The dude at Walmart? That 19-year-old who opened that game rental place by your cousin's house in 1992?

Sample quote of the stoned gameshop employee: "Uh....that came out? When? Uh, I haven't heard of that one. Is it for...Xbox or somethign?"

Tell tales of chemical-riddled cluelessness here!

most of the gamestops i've been to seem rather clean-cut, with the managers usually hyper, pressured dudes trying to upsell me.

wal-marts are almost all staffed by tired, exhausted and sour middle aged women, elderly men and brain dead teenagers.

Funcoland used to be staffed by creepily enthusiastic eunuchs and I miss them. I saw one of the pariahs this summer at the Sony outlet store and I think he recognized me, too. Then I bought Front Mission 4 and never played it!

There's a store in Fall River, MA called Bob's Bargains that sells used video games and guns and knives. It's run by a big fat guy named Bob and there's always cops hanging out in there. His brother is slightly less fat, but he has curly hair and a moustache. I was trying to get him to grab me some Saturn game from behind the counter but he said "JUST HOLD ON A MINUTE" and stared blankly ahead and it was really uncomfortable.

yeah, this thread could also include the most uncomfortable or creepy employees you've ever encountered...

heh. that was the thing about when they started having NES rental places in 1989 or thereabouts. Anybody with a tiny storefront and enough dosh for some titles could do one, and many did. Just not all of them were folks you'd want knowing where you lived...
