Do all PS/PS2-USB adapters have delay issues?

The super-chintsy(sub lik-sang) one I got on ebay is the proverbial suck for anything but RPGs and...maze craze 2600.
I ordered a replacement from lik-sang(though I avoid chinese products, when going low-level consumer electronics, I have virtually no choice, so might as well cut out the middle man), but I have worries...
It's not so much a visibly noticable delay from pushing the button to the command's execution, but more that the longer I used it, the more I noticed that I wasn't landing things I should have. I eventually realised that if I hit the button a little late I made the move etc MORE often!
It was like "Wow it really IS the controller! Everything I felt about video games as a child is coming true!!!"

In any case, if anyone else has these, please let me know if you're suffering like I am.

i don't notice any delay with mine, and i'm pretty picky about that. on the other hand i don't play fighting games with it, which is probably where it would be the most noticeable. it's fine for shooters and platformers.

I wonder if it because Windows XP has such I/O latency issues.

hmmm...
Windows DOES suck.....

Here's hoping I don't have such an issue.

Then again, I might just use the 360 controller I ordered off ebay.
Those are just USB controllers.
Thing is, I want to play sonic games with the Shadow the Hedgehog controller I ordered.
it has a better D Pad than most PS2 controllers (only thrid party ones are any good to begin with...)and cool triggery L2/R2 buttons.
And it's smaller.
And better.

And it comes in a BIG DUMB RED BUBBLE.
I don;t even have a PS2....
I have an old ass playstation, though so it'll get SOME use.

i had problems with my usb adapter on my old computer -- it would work fine for around 10 minutes then stop accepting input for several seconds. the problem went away when i got a new computer (with usb2.0 and other stuff)
