For people who are considering the Wii, do not have a GameCube already, and may be interested in a lot of excellent $20 titles to while away the days until Super Mario Galaxy, Castlevania Whippin Funtimes Bananas, Resident Wiivil, Magical Dragon Star Filled Supreme Fushigino Dancers, etc.

Must Have Games:

Zelda Windwaker
Tales of Symphonia
Resident Evil 4

polar bear flashback episode (nickalicious), Thursday, 2 November 2006 22:04 (eighteen years ago)

Tales of Symphonia - the story is totally retarded, but it has one of the best combat systems of any RPG I've ever played (you can even play 2-player! [although the 2-player system is kind of awful]).

polar bear flashback episode (nickalicious), Thursday, 2 November 2006 22:05 (eighteen years ago)

Is it possible that there weren't a ton of great GC games, even though I really like the system?

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 2 November 2006 22:12 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah I was thinking the same thing too Jordan. A lot of my most played games were available for other systems (Tony Hawk etc).

I can't believe Castlevania Whippin Funtimes Bananas isn't a real GC game!

polar bear flashback episode (nickalicious), Thursday, 2 November 2006 22:15 (eighteen years ago)

I can't believe that they never came out with a GC Castlevania!

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 2 November 2006 22:41 (eighteen years ago)

peter in montreal (spaces are allowed), Friday, 3 November 2006 15:50 (eighteen years ago)

Hey, Peter in Montreal, do you have Paper Mario and maybe want to trade it to another guy in montreal?

antexit in montreal (antexit), Friday, 3 November 2006 16:01 (eighteen years ago)

Oh yeah, I forgot Viewtiful Joe! Totally fun and insane. I've still never made it past the shark guy.

polar bear flashback episode (nickalicious), Friday, 3 November 2006 16:16 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to finally being able to play Paper Mario and the Mario sports titles (esp. that Mario Baseball one - I've been looking for a good successor to Baseball Stars for like EVER)

James.Cobo (jamescobo), Friday, 3 November 2006 16:20 (eighteen years ago)

Resident Evil 4
Killer 7
Eternal Darkness
Zelda: Wind Waker
Ikaruga
Metroid Prime
Fire Emblem
Viewtiful Joe
Super Mario Sunshine
Soul Calibur II

Word. This is my list, sans WarioWare Inc. I'd probably swap out Metroid for that one (as I don't have Metroid).

melton mowbray's APOCALYPTO! (adr), Friday, 3 November 2006 17:33 (eighteen years ago)

yeah i'd go for Wind Waker, Metroid Prime 2 (somehow i like this more than the first, i don't even know why), Soul Calibur II, RE4.

Oh, and Smash Bros Melee.

lemin (lemin), Saturday, 4 November 2006 16:55 (eighteen years ago)

hey antexit in montreal, i fully support you trading with peter in montreal and getting paper mario in montreal and you and i having a gamecube party, in montreal.

s1ocki in... (slutsky), Saturday, 4 November 2006 17:30 (eighteen years ago)

polar bear flashback episode (nickalicious), Monday, 6 November 2006 15:36 (eighteen years ago)

Hey, Peter in Montreal, do you have Paper Mario and maybe want to trade it to another guy in montreal?

-- antexit in montreal (antexi...), November 3rd, 2006.

my girlfriend's currently playing her way through it. At the rate she's playing she should be done sometime in early 2008 though.

peter in montreal (spaces are allowed), Monday, 6 November 2006 16:35 (eighteen years ago)

Someone'splain me some ALIEN HOMINID bitte!

Abbott (Abbott), Monday, 6 November 2006 20:54 (eighteen years ago)

Also you fules are forgetting CUBIVORE! Which made my friend a vegetarian (also he thought the no-meat policy would endear him to the ladies).

Abbott (Abbott), Monday, 6 November 2006 20:56 (eighteen years ago)

RE4
Metroid Prime

latebloomer (latebloomer), Tuesday, 7 November 2006 03:26 (eighteen years ago)

one month passes...
Need more suggestions to justify purchase of additional 2 Wavebirds with eventual acquisition of Wii. Wii justified to wife by existence of Madden with genuine stiff-arming gesture action. Wavebird procurement hangs in balance.

TOMB07 (TOMBOT), Thursday, 4 January 2007 14:30 (eighteen years ago)

Pikmin, Ikaruga and Viewtiful Joe owned my gamecube. i wish i had liked super mario sunshine and windwaker, but i didn't.

Dy (Danny), Saturday, 6 January 2007 23:09 (eighteen years ago)

oh and paper mario was great too.

Dxy (Danny), Saturday, 6 January 2007 23:10 (eighteen years ago)

Magical Dragon Star Filled Supreme Fushigino Dancers

a shockingly accurate title prediction, given what's come out on the DS so far

kingfish prætor (kingfish 2.0), Saturday, 6 January 2007 23:42 (eighteen years ago)

what do you have already, tombot?

double dash totally justifies 2 wavebirds.

zelda totally justifies 1.

s1ocki (slutsky), Sunday, 7 January 2007 00:20 (eighteen years ago)

I ain't got shit, son. We got Madden and Zelda TP for the Wii. Gamecube wise there's nothing, not a thing, not in this house! I need to start putting together a Backwards Compatibility For The Future fund.

TOMB07 (TOMBOT), Sunday, 7 January 2007 07:28 (eighteen years ago)

Did anybody check out the Fire Emblem Path of Radiance?

TOMB07 (TOMBOT), Sunday, 7 January 2007 07:29 (eighteen years ago)

definitely get GC zelda. definitely definitely. and resident evil 4.

s1ocki (slutsky), Sunday, 7 January 2007 07:58 (eighteen years ago)

i realize i'm not saying anything new here.

s1ocki (slutsky), Sunday, 7 January 2007 07:58 (eighteen years ago)

i don't think i play enough games to pick a top 10, so POVII:

Metroid prime
Metroid echoes
The first Rogue Leader/squadron on GC
Mario sunshine
zelda windwaker
eternal darkness
pikmin
