Mine's a Pelican. Had it for years, no probs.

JVC has a competing 5-switcher now to match the Pelican 960 or 970. three component inputs, two s-video/composite.

JVC-JXS111 is the model.

the jvc doesn't have digital/coaxial audio though now, does it?

plus people on new egg are being harsh on the pelican:

See I use a separate AudioSource preamp for my sound fx channels.
Das visual-stimuluses used to go through a Pelican but the new teevee has enough inputs I don't need to.

(also people on new egg are harsh about everything. penny arcade likes the pelican pro, I imagine they put as many hours on their gear as anybody)

three years pass...

I didn't want to start a whole new thread on it, because I'm pretty sure it doesn't exist, so...

Here's my situation. I have very limited outlet space near my television. So everytime I want to switch a game system (360, Wii, NES, SNES, etc), I have to crawl under the tv to the jungle of cords and switch out the ACs. Is there a gadget that not only lets you plug in all of your various A/V cables into one box, but also somehow lets you connect all the power cords? So that if you switch from 360 to Wii, it would not only switch to the appropriate A/V cables but also switch on the Wii's power cord and shut off the 360's power? I don't really like the idea of having to keep 8 different power cords hooked up to a surge protector all the time, because even when they're not on they're sucking up phantom power.

probably, I would spend some time looking on monoprice.com to see if they have what you need

hmm I guess not. this is probably the closest

but doesn't have power-switching and probably would not be compatible with your NES & SNES. you can buy surge protectors with individual on/off switches for each socket, but that would introduce a second step to your process...

If you're really worried about phantom power suckage, might well just go ahead and get one of those strips with the individual switches to turn them on/off and get the most versatile A/V switch you can get. Even better, get one just for component video and another for the old analog stuff.
