my 2 day old ps3 keeps freezing.

i bought a ps3 2 days ago. the day i bought it, it was perfect. no, it was better than perfect. now, all of a sudden it locks up after about an hour of playing resistance. i have it in a ventilated area, i have the latest firmware installed and i had it standing vertically. i read something about the kiosk consoles locking up.

this sucks.

also, one of the times this happened the hdmi signal dissapeared and i had to...shut it off, unplug the hdmi cable, plug it back in, turn it on and then eject the game disc just to get the signal back.

ahh, sorry. i read that wrong. no, actually, ps3's are pretty easy to find now. i bought mine at FYE. they had a sign at the entrance that said "PS3'S ARE IN STOCK". the only probelm is that they can only sell them in a bundle with 2 games and an extra controller. all together it cost me a little over $800.

Shit! Yeah, they shouldn't have any problem with you taking this back at all, especially as it was only a couple of days ago. Shops don't tend to forget a customer who spent $800 in one day. I assume you're swapping it for another PS3, right? If so they'll do it without a question.

We've been swapping out copies of Gears of War for months due to some dodgy pressing that gives disc read errors. It's reached the point where we don't even ask for receipts :)

I use 16/32 bit systems and my PC.

A console hasn't interested me between the Saturn(some damn good games, kinda lame system overall) and the Wii.
I'm planning on buying a Wii next year. It's already been fun to mess around with at a student's house, and it already has a number of fun games.
Again, there are a couple 360 games that interest me.
I'll wait until it's replaced with whatever other fancy shmancy pretty colors system is next.

Ugh, I hate that shit. I remember my second PS1 I got after my first one died within a week or two back in '96 or whatever had obviously been opened. I mean, once in a blue moon I'll come across a "new" CD in a shop that looks like it's been reshrinkwrapped but they pull this kind of shit all the time with videogames. You really have to look at what you're getting. If you're paying full price for something it should be BRAND NEW NEVER FUCKED WITH, period.
