Damn, I forgot all about Cave Story! I can really, really recommend that one. That one was obviously a labor of love for whoever developed it. It also has replay value because depending on the way you proceed, you can get different weapons and endings. A+ would play again etc.

It took forever and never seemed to go anywhere. I stopped playing.

The original Knytt is even more low-key than most of the Knytt Stories levels. I'd agree that they don't really 'go anywhere' -- the appeal is mostly in exploring the weird mysterious world and seeing the tiny little sprite animals hop around, which is compelling enough for me but I can see how it could seem boring.

i enjoyed the 45x45 up to a point - and then i just realized it was just a more difficult connections and stopped bothering. sorry, i don't know 45 different kinds of cocktails.

popping in to say thank you for this thread. my strategy for not immediately reading the doom news in the morning is playing these kinds of games, and Clues by Sam and enclose.horse have been very helpful

not knowing the perfect score on enclose horse is an interesting dynamic which annoys me. have i done well? have i missed something? the value is, if you look, in the html source. as was tomorrow's puzzle, defined but not playable

Finished 45x45 using brute force, now my OCD can take a break.

1715, 134 mistakes, setting myself a mistakes goal of < 300 but i might just pack it in eventually

the mistakes really cascade after a bit in 45x45… my wife saw me playing and now is hooked.. shes helped a lot w cheeses, cocktails and pasta

hallelujah just finished 45x45. 212 errors. Probably half of them happened in the final ~200 correct matches.

Final categories were numbers, fallacies, legal doctrines, and programming languages. Lots of brute force and looking shit up

enclose horse now tells you the perfect score before you commit. and now all the jeopardy is gone.

yeah I vastly preferred having to commit to an answer rather than being compelled to actually find the optimal. oh well

Agree enclose.horse is worse with check score feature. All the results are now compressed and it removes the satisfaction of getting a perfect score
