Cuthbert! Wales! Cartridges! Microdeal! Airball! And, erm, a Jet Set Willy conversion which only ran in black and white. It was my first ever computer, and I dearly loved its four-colour graphics and its mushy-buttoned potentiometer-type joysticks.

The best achive of Dragon related stuff around at the moment seems to be here.

Oh, and despite the JSW farrago, I defy anyone to find a better version of Chucky Egg. Did anyone else here have one?

zomg, there's apparently a Dragon emulator for the DS here!!! Going to have a fiddle with this now, if it works it's going to make me VERY VERY HAPPY!

Time to dig out all those old INPUT mags eh.

Well, Dragon Users actually. My dad won a competition in an issue of Dragon User once. The prize was a copy of Horace Goes Skiing, but it never arrived. I was very disappointed.

I also remember writing to Microdeal once, to ask why Cuthbert was on the front cover of 8-ball even though he didn't actually appear in the game. They replied and told me that it was his favourite game, so he'd asked if he could have his picture on the box.

Did the emulator work ?

Just about got it running on my PC, but it's pretty sluggish. Haven't tried it on the DS yet though, about to do that now.

So cool!

Trouble is, it's only a proof-of-concept emulator so far, which means it has zero functionality. I mean, I could type out little basic programs in there if I wanted, and they'd run fine. But then I wouldn't be able to save them anywhere. And I can't load up old CAS files or anything, so I'm not going to be able to get Speed Racer on there just yet. Somebody who can code should fix this! It looks like the source and everything is here.

ok, I'm spiralling into the depths of nutterdom here, but GUYS! LOOK!

This and this!!

four months pass...

This got an update, and now it loads games! No mapping of keys/joysticks to the DS controls yet, so most things are still unplayable. But it's lovely and fun to be able to take photos like this, this and this.
