Wario Ware series

On a whim I picked up Wario Ware, Inc. Mega Microgames for the GBA yesterday. I'd heard about the series, but never played any of the games. I'd heard the mini-games were really mini, but I still wasn't prepared for how incredibly short. But mostly I wasn't prepared for how much fun. Have only finished the first three levels, but I'm really enjoying these, unique, weird, perfect, short bursts of gameplay (and good music too). Are the other games in the series as good? What about the wii one?

Wario Ware: Smooth Moves is hands down the most fun I've ever had with the wii. I don't know why it doesn't get mentioned more often, I suppose it is sort of easy and doesn't hold much one player replay value. Oh yeah, and the multiplayer is turn based, you don't play at the same time. But really when I have friends over it's always the #1 choice, we usually play it in single player mode even and just take turns. It has enormous spectator value! A ton of fun to play, a ton of fun to watch.

I bought the new Wario thinking it would be more of the same but turns out it's more of a traditional sidescroller with wiimote elements added.

I concur about Smooth Moves, it was a surprisingly fun party game. I wasn't as impressed with the single player, but in multi it worked well.

The DS version's great too, as is that tilty one. They're all well worth playing. But yeah, zero replay once everything's unlocked.

I've played just about all of them, and they're all fantastic. I disagree about them not having replay value. They're perfect party games.

The team who made these games went on to make the Rhythm Tengoku games too, right? Was it the same team on the wii game? If so, that's a lot of games. Also I was looking for a release date for Rhythm Heaven in the US and ign says June 30th (maybe just a place holder?). But what's the hold up? Maybe I should just import / learn Japanese...

If you've waited this long by not importing the GBA version, you might as well wait a little longer for the US version to come in - outside of RB/GH, these quirky rhythm games need as much support as they can to get imported over here (I'm still holding out hope for EBA 2). I am baffled as to why it's taking so long though, from most accounts I don't think there's much text or localization needed for this game.

I only played the Wii one a couple times, with a group of people, but I didn't find it had as many minigames as the GBA version... unless whoever owned the game hadn't unlocked more things?

i've only played the original but it is awesome. i disagree about it not having replay value too, i used to play it whenever i had a spare five minutes because you jump right in and can stop whenever (also unlockable dr. mario!!!).

some know what you dude last summer (Jordan), Monday, 1 December 2008 23:13 (seventeen years ago)

Do you unlock Dr. Mario by beating all the levels, or is it something else?

Mega Microgames is the first one, right?

I have Wario Ware: Touched! It is the first game I got for the DS bcz I love it so much. (The clerk said it sounds like a "child molesting game" – fuck you, clerk, and your dirty unprofessional mouth.) I agree w/Jordan, they have GREAT replay value, just a fun, quick way to wind down/take a breather/have a bit of laughs & some self-competition, like a silly Tetris with no strategy.

The only bad thing is some are not very intuitive & it hurts your score: the 'elephant' thing on the Wii one baffled the fuck out of me and my friends kept kicking my ass.

The songs are fun, too..."Everyone knows it's Aaa-ash-LEY!"

Holy cow - sealed copies of the wii game are going for 85 dollars on Amazon, 60 dollars for used. Second printing please?
