Sequel to Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan, which I've never played. God this game kicks so much ass. It's like DDR without having to run out of breath and tense up w/undersized stylus instead. Plus awesome/bonkers stories to accompany your trying to tap/draw the songs' beats. I was surprised how touching I found the level for "You're the Inspiration."

Anyone else played this and want to snob out about how awesome it is? or agree to disagree?

i've played it a little at the local game crazy. it's...different.

kingfish, Wednesday, 14 March 2007 05:48 (eighteen years ago)

Haha, there's a little circle etched deep into the middle of mine, from this and Ouendan!

The differences between the two games are so bizarre though, I can't decide which one's actually better! I prefer the songs in Ouendan, for sure, but the whistle sounds when you hit the pads are so bloody annoying compared to the little crashes in EBA. Also, I've beaten Ouendan to death and unlocked everything, but can't even beat the last level on EBA on the third difficulty.

It's a pain in the arse, because I have the most amazing Ouendan/EBA shirt, and I feel like a fraud wearing it while I can't beat this level! Maybe I'll take the DS to work today :)

just write "(except last level)" next to where it says elite beat agents on your shirt with a sharpie!

s1ocki, Wednesday, 14 March 2007 13:21 (eighteen years ago)

I haven't beaten Ouendan yet so I haven't started this game but I am hyped. I need to get a new stylus so I can finish it though... girlfriends rule at dorpping/losing styli.

You know what, I'm a bit drunk so I'm going to have a mini-bitch. I learnt to love EBA about 3 months ago, and I felt like I'd come to it REALLY LATE. And I kind of felt like the reason I didn't hear about it sooner was that ILG had FAILED ME. I mean, this thread shouldn't have been started yesterday, it should have been here ages ago. And I think maybe a little part of me not being around here so much lately is a result of that. It was like you guys all let me down with the bringing of the "this is great, you should play it" news!

But yeah, game fucking rules, best leap forward in the rhythm-action genre since the original beatmania. And Abbott otm about the Chicago level. I got teary eyed!

JIMD OTM re: ILG FAILURE!

On the DS games note, someone plz tell me how CONTACT is.

I am also slightly curious about Hamsterz Life altho I know it would disappoint.

Abbott, Thursday, 15 March 2007 20:27 (eighteen years ago)

i made posts abt how great eba is in the catch-all ilg thread! shows how much people listen to me ;_;

webber, Friday, 16 March 2007 00:19 (eighteen years ago)

actually i cant find the posts now, maybe it was in the sandbox

webber, Friday, 16 March 2007 00:19 (eighteen years ago)

Abbott - Contact is bloody brilliant, however I can't recommend it because I got a DS Supercard in the same week, so I've barely played it. The whole user/game interaction via DS is brilliant, as you play some sort of god character with the stylus whilst controlling the main character on screen with the d-pad. Hard to explain, but you'll see what I mean if you play the intro.

Actually, forget what I said, I can totally recommend it.

melton mowbray, Saturday, 17 March 2007 04:31 (eighteen years ago)

tell us about this supercard.

s1ocki, Saturday, 17 March 2007 05:26 (eighteen years ago)

See Supercard thread, s1ocki :)

seven months pass...

fucking hoobastank

abanana, Sunday, 28 October 2007 20:37 (seventeen years ago)

I want this game so badly but my touch screen has broke and my ds has been relegated to a GBA :|

Dy, Monday, 29 October 2007 01:14 (seventeen years ago)

Where the hell's that EBA sequel? I might have to resort to importing the Japanese games.

Nhex, Monday, 29 October 2007 21:43 (seventeen years ago)

one year passes...

I just played this for the first time tonight. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Placing order for Ouendan 1 & 2 now

Jeff LeVine, Monday, 26 January 2009 08:17 (sixteen years ago)

Pretty wonderful, isn't it? :D

Nhex, Monday, 26 January 2009 09:04 (sixteen years ago)

seven months pass...

Still no sequel :(

Jeff LeVine, Monday, 21 September 2009 06:34 (sixteen years ago)

Great game! The first time I spun the bonus wheel I pressed too hard and scratched my touch screen protector sheet, which over time has gotten to be less of a big deal but it's a steady reminder of the game at least.

Soul Finger! (Euler), Monday, 21 September 2009 06:37 (sixteen years ago)

I still haven't unlocked the girl agents yet...

baout.com (dyao), Monday, 21 September 2009 07:28 (sixteen years ago)

Still my favorite DS game. Really sad that they seem to have given up on the DS altogether to do Lips. Infinite love...

Nhex, Monday, 21 September 2009 10:34 (sixteen years ago)

Euler hypothetically you could just buy another protector sheet?

existential eggs (Abbott), Monday, 21 September 2009 18:28 (sixteen years ago)

What do you have to do to unlock the lady agents - beat the game on hard or just medium?

Jeff LeVine, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 05:25 (sixteen years ago)

They were the final difficulty level, if I remember correctly, so probably hard.

Nhex, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 05:30 (sixteen years ago)

and then if you beat the game on THAT level you got an extra bonus

Nhex, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 05:30 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah, I will buy another protector. I was just mad initially b/c this was the second game I played on my brand new DS with brand new protector sheet. But the groove I scratched in started to wear away after a few more plays. I still love the game, anyway!

Soul Finger! (Euler), Tuesday, 22 September 2009 05:32 (sixteen years ago)

speaking of movies that made you go boo-hoo, the level with the girl's father got me pretty good the first time

baout.com (dyao), Tuesday, 22 September 2009 06:43 (sixteen years ago)

^^ Only time a videogame has ever given me wet eyes.

JimD, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 08:38 (sixteen years ago)

gets me every time. :'(

I am rubbish at this game and my girlfriend is awesome (I mean corking), hence much two-player embarrassment, but I warn anyone who wants to completely complete it: she spent hours gradually accumulating the 80,000,000 points required to reach the final rank, and what did she get for her efforts? A PICTURE. ONE LOUSY PICTURE. She was apoplectic for days upon days.

Akon/Family (Merdeyeux), Tuesday, 22 September 2009 12:17 (sixteen years ago)

lol!

Nhex, Tuesday, 22 September 2009 17:28 (sixteen years ago)

xpost

the "You're The Inspiration" level is one of the best experiences I've ever had with a videogame; I wish there was a museum I could hang it in. the level w/ the cat in the original Ouendan was pretty great too.
