Wasn't it political trivia from the 60s/70s?

the defense is that to a 10-year-old (or however fuckin old i was), leisure suit larry and its ilk were incredibly exciting.

I bought that Singles game that I wrote about in a thread on ILE, b/c it was 2.99 and I thought I'd get 2.99's worth of entertainment out of writing it up on the thread. It took ages to get it to work, and when I did, it was total shit & piss-boring. I never got as far as getting the sim-a-likes to fuck, it was just too tedious. I uninstalled it.

A couple of months ago I saw in HMV a game which seemed to be vaguely sub-GTA generically, but w/a female protagonist, and which appeared to include fucking. I didn't buy it, but thought about doing so briefly, again to write it up on the ILE thread.

What it says about me that I bought "singles" and considered buying this other game just so I could write them up on ILX for lulz, I don't know. Probably nothing good, I think I must be ILX-institutionalised.

I can't really think of any defense of a sex/erotica themed computer game. I can't imagine such a thing being anything other than ridiculous, boring &/or stupid.

...and not even in a funny way! That's the worst thing.

I enjoy the LSL games when I was 14, but I liked almost every sierra game back then. Sneaking a play of the game when the folks were chatting with other parents in the nearby living room seems like forbidded pleasure.

It was also nice when the strippers got their boobies out in Duke Nukem 3D. "Shake it baby!"

There was some sort of sex mini-game in God of War, right? That game was pretty good from what I played (although I never got as far as the sex)

Really!? I never got very far on that one because I lost my memory card. Maybe I'll start it again soon, it was bloody brilliant while it lasted.

no mention of Leather Goddesses of Phobos??

Stiffy Makane: The Undiscovered Country is another very funny text adventure.

The sex game was after you finish the first level and are on your boat just arriving in Athens. Press 'Action' near the ladies in the bed and spin your analogue stick (not a code for anything) for red orbs. You get a good first pay out but from then on it's less satisfying. That is still not code for anything.

Sad confession: I got turned on when my Sims had sex when I first played the game at 17. But I was such a horny fuck almost anything did that.

six years pass...

Computer game sex stands out as ridiculous; but computer game violence is equally ridiculous; we only perceive the former as more ridiculous because we've become accustomed to the latter, and because there have been statistically more games about violence than about sex, so methods to simulate violence are correspondingly more advanced/successful.
