Are these related to those PS2 Ages remakes at all? Seems like new features (resolution scaling, online leaderboards) were added but I can't tell if these are just straight emulated or if they are those remakes... even if it just the old roms, still a looks like a nice package.

how do you unlock entire games?
― s1ocki, Friday, 23 January 2009 15:22 (seventeen years ago)
i kinda wish i hadnt just played phantasy star 2 again on an emulator a few years ago!
and that they had put thunder force 3 in this ish. i woulda bought it in a SECOND.
nhex - they're not remakes, basically ROM dumps with some kind of weird filter (that you can turn off). For 30 USD it seems like a damn good deal.
s1ocki - not sure what you have to do to unlock the games. In the usual case it would be something like beat Sonic, score 10,000 points on X

― Barackman Hussein Overdrive (John Justen), Friday, 23 January 2009 18:36 (seventeen years ago)
This wants to be a decent price. I dont want to have to wait 18 months for this thing to become reasonable.

― Tracy Michael Jordan Catalano (Jordan), Friday, 13 February 2009 19:15 (seventeen years ago)
just got this, havent had a lot of time with it yet, but the odd stuff is kind of fascinating (comix zone is kind of brilliant). the things you have to do to unlock stuff is sort of bizarre and arbitrary, and sometimes doesn't seem accurate. going to have tons and tons of timewasting potential tho.
HD smoothing filter is kind of ?

in a "oh thank god i have replaced this pesky pixelation with a new slightly blurry and out of focus version"
worth it just for altered beast and GOLDEN AXE tho.
― !nuo más¡ (jjjusten), Saturday, 28 February 2009 16:44 (seventeen years ago)
The 2 Shining Forces are dope. Shining in the Darkness is pretty shitty tho.
― Sugban Stevens (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 28 February 2009 16:45 (seventeen years ago)

Holy shit, the original Phantasy Star is AMAZING. I can't imagine how mind-blowing it must've felt back in '88 when all there was was the original Dragon Warrior.
― Mr. Snrub, Wednesday, 4 March 2009 00:24 (seventeen years ago)
Actually, if Wikipedia is to be believed, Phantasy Star (1988) predates both Dragon Warrior (1989) and Final Fantasy (1990). That's unbelievable!

― thomp, Wednesday, 4 March 2009 07:56 (seventeen years ago)
Just bought this for £10, mainly for Kid Chameleon. I loved that game, can't wait to see if it still holds up nearly 20 years later.
