? at after burner : first one = "The R-360 is an arcade cabinet produced by Sega. The arcade cabinet has two axes of movement, allowing the player to rotate freely as the cabinet mimics the ingame action, including turning the cabinet completely upside down. Sega used the acronym SDME (Servo Drive Movement System) for the cabinet's system." multi axis action is not a "just" to me, it's awesome enough i might look into buying one.

it's not new, but I'll always remember this:

my friend Jared attempting to "play" this game (you basically grab hold of the handlebars and air-hump like crazy, using a "whip" button for turbo boosts) with a head full of acid back in high school remains one of the funniest things I've ever witnessed

are you supposed to be playing AS Edward Furlong, or are you humping Edward Furlong?

wow. ^^
my buddy has a star wars pod racer machine that he converted into a MAME machine, pretty dope. i'd love to get a Sega Afterburner machine as well - i think the cabinet actually rolled up and down as you flew

Yes, hence the R-360 is just an updated Afterburner taken to the logical conclusion.

What's the deal with the Soul Calibur cab above (do you remember)? Some kind of DIY mod from and office desk??? Or is that a set-up you can buy? It doesn't seem like you could rotate the monitor though :(

pretty sure the soul calibur cabinet is just a 'standard' viewlix cab, the type of which you see hosting sfiv in japanese arcades. there was this guy who made his own custom viewlix cab when sfiv was released... edit: actually it turns out that soul calibur cabinet IS that guy's cabinet.
