Greatest fighting series evah!

Tekken 5 even comes with a feature where you can buy extra clothes/items for your guy, one of which is an actual Tiger Mask/Eddy Guerrero-style mask for King, which makes it even cooler.

Post your Tekken raves/fave memories of Tekkens past(Armor King 4 LIF!), etc here.

Say, did anybody ever play the Death By Degrees game? The spin-off that only had Nina Williams doing actiony/espionagey things?

Is that even out yet?

Could they have thought of a worse title?

I rented that Death by Degrees a few months ago! I didn't play it for too long (it was a free rental anyway) but for all the bad things I've heard said about it, I really enjoyed it.

I was raised on Tekken, to the point where the physics in most other 3d fighters seem wrong. That said, Tekken 4 was also...wrong. Played a bit of 5 when I was in New York, nice to see that it's back to goodness (though the final boss was "you're kidding!" hard even on easy setting)

Tekken Tag had some excellent double team combos but I still think Tekken 3 was the best, so fluid and intuitive.

My son wiped my save game with every single character/clip/minigame/thing in Tekken Tag Tournament unlocked :-(

Tekken Shmekken.

Is that the new Jewish edition?

Tekken 3 on the psx was pretty enh for me. I preferred the presentation, music & characters from 2, and didn't really start playing the game again until Tekken Tag came out.

Which coincided with my watching pro-wrestling again, and realizing that i could name every one of king's moves.

Tekken was great in two player mode but i always preferred virtua fighter, especially VF2 on the Saturn.

I also preferred VF2 but really Soul Calibur pwns all if I'm being honest with myself.

Tekken live-action movie coming out this year.

No King, no Paul. They got a white girl playing Christie, which means significantly less Brazilian ass than otherwise.

Why wasn't I all over this thread? It's the one and only fighting game I ever gave my heart to. Loved the characters, the graphics, the gameplay, the awesomely nutso story and the even more nutso ending animations, especially the comedy ones. Heihachi Land! Poor Kuma!

After the death of his former master, Heihachi Mishima, Kuma believed no one but he could rescue the Mishima Financial Group (MFG) from its captor. Eager to do just that, Kuma confronted the MFG. However, the MFG's new CEO, Jin Kazama, was waiting. Kuma was easily beaten and discarded in the Hokkaido wilderness. Though defeated, his fighting spirit was not lost.

Anybody planning to pick up the new Tekken? There doesn't seem to be much hype... Possible fighting game fatigue?

Jeff LeVine, Tuesday, 27 October 2009 05:06 (sixteen years ago)

Tekken is still my fave fighting game. I'll get this eventually. I may actually pig out and get this for ps3 and the Gay Tony disc for Xbox on Thursday

Played this for an hour or two at the weekend. Online was laggy but might be a lot better on a different connection. Game is all over the place, general tone is very pretentious, tekken force style mode looks massive and unbearable but otoh there's an Alpine level w/yodelling and sheep and that's great. New characters very mixed but not a disaster. Couldn't get the hang of horrible xbox analogue stick either, not really fit for purpose, but I think with decent ISP and joystick or something, ranked stuff online could be amazing. Yoshimitsu has become shit.
