Any specific announcements you're hoping to hear come out of E3 this year?

My wishlist is...
1. Cave ports (Deathsmiles, Ketsui, Mushihime-sama Futari etc) get US publisher
2. New, improved Microsoft 360 racing wheel (from Logitech!)
3. Online mode for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom using GGPO tech

a Tintin game? being developed by Ancel at Ubisoft? YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

zappi, Tuesday, 2 June 2009 09:52 (sixteen years ago)

Since Beyond Good & Evil was very Tintin-esque, it piqued my interest as well.

By the way, heard a rumor that Ubisoft is doing Beyond Good & Evil 2 only to keep Ancel in the fold. Apparently, he was pissed at what they did with his beloved Rayman with the silly Rabbids and threatened to leave.

EZ Snappin, Tuesday, 2 June 2009 11:52 (sixteen years ago)

tht ws quite a start from M$, sony are going to have to BRING IT to top that tbf

MGS on 360, crackdown 2 (!!!), L4D2, the new splinter cell looking hype, natal looking pretty good

sony need to bring mgs5, trico, ps3 slim and zone of enders 3 tbh

cozwn, Tuesday, 2 June 2009 12:17 (sixteen years ago)

if all they bring is trico i'll be happy

kinda doubt msg5 as the msg raiden is supposed to be multiplat right?

s1ocki, Tuesday, 2 June 2009 13:39 (sixteen years ago)

Found myself surprisingly unexcited about Crackdown 2 and Metal Gear 5. Am excited about new Splinter Cell and Forza 3 (100 tracks! tho I imagine that is including reverse, though just the track variety shown seemed like a big improvement over 2). Also like the variety we are seeing in Modern Warfare 2 (even if the onstage demo was a little flat). Maybe the Contra/Metroid game from Epic will be good (Shadow Complex) A little bummed there wasn't a more exciting line-up of live arcade games announced though.

Jeff LeVine, Tuesday, 2 June 2009 15:15 (sixteen years ago)

this sounds like it could be pretty awesome (alan wake)

didnt xbox just announce like the exact same thing?

s1ocki, Wednesday, 3 June 2009 03:35 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah, and they both look kind of lame, frankly... (not like the original waggle didn't/doesn't look lame)

Nhex, Wednesday, 3 June 2009 03:36 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah, three years later and PS360 managed to come up with motion control ideas less elegant than the wii remote (which isn't particularly elegant). Not convinced both new products don't end up as vaporware. I do think the pointing remote idea is slightly better than the playing pantomime in front of a camera however & fighting with voice recognition is never fun.

Jeff LeVine, Wednesday, 3 June 2009 03:57 (sixteen years ago)

in regards to new IP, I thought Modnation Racers looked promising.

Jeff LeVine, Wednesday, 3 June 2009 04:05 (sixteen years ago)

motion control is garbage. ps360 can bth fuck right off

I thought modnation racers looked quite nice too, basically little big mario kart but who doesn't want that?

cozwn, Wednesday, 3 June 2009 09:05 (sixteen years ago)

I'm pretty sure that the waggle PS3 is going with is the Sixense 'True Motion' one. They haven't anywhere said they're developing it for the PS3, but lets just say I have a hunch. I find it kind of tragic that they (and xbox) feel the need try and add waggle, after all they've constantly been saying they don't see the Wii as a competitor...

Anyway, a surprising amount of games announced that I'm interested in (even if most of them have already been rumoured), but interested in new 2.5D Mario on the Wii, Trico looks nice, Forza 3 and Gran Tourismo both pique my interest a bit, Next Fallout 3 DLC, etc. Nice to see Nintendo actually announce some games at this one too.

CraigG, Wednesday, 3 June 2009 09:17 (sixteen years ago)

i kinda wonder if any of those waggles will ever really show up anyway... i mean the MS one they're saying is gonna be like $200? you could just buy a whole wii for nearly that...

s1ocki, Wednesday, 3 June 2009 13:59 (sixteen years ago)

okay what the hell is a waggle

Ant Attack.. (Ste), Wednesday, 3 June 2009 14:01 (sixteen years ago)

s1ocki, Wednesday, 3 June 2009 14:11 (sixteen years ago)

god how great was Nintendo's conference!??!? that whole hour had disastrous implications for my wallet.

also I will admit to being completely curious as to their plans for the biofeedback sensor; I can't imagine it having many game-related applications but I still have faith that it could turn out to be something interesting nonetheless.

yah really well done best of the three imo really into endless ocean for some reason

Lamp, Wednesday, 3 June 2009 16:52 (sixteen years ago)

is that vitality sensor thing a heartrate monitor? if so you could make a really good horror game where the game changed visually in response to how scared you really are.

E3 is fucking nuts. Its hard to keep track of everything thats going on. Kind of a let down tho. Alot of what you could get your hands on is stuff that you've more or less seen already or if its not you have to wait in an enormous line for. One game I saw that was new to me and looks pretty amazing was Aliens v. Predator. Only saw Predator footage but it was pretty legit. Some good stealthy gameplay mixed with some pretty amazing animations of dudes getting their faces cut off or head and spine ripped out.

Found out about EO2 a couple of months back and am much more excited about it than I ought to be.

Ømår Littel (Jordan), Wednesday, 3 June 2009 21:37 (sixteen years ago)

Have Splash Damage/Bethesda/whoever shown any footage of Brink or is it just the announcement so far? That looks potentially interesting, provided they can step back from ET:QW's beastly learning curve.

this will make me buy a ps3; no doubt about it.

can anyone tell me the name of the game that i saw on the E3 stream on gamespot, it featured a multiplayer fps rocky terrain environment where everyone was battling a huge beastie that kept diving underwater.
