1up isn't usually that bad IMO.
I guess the thing is that I've been reading a lot of things lately wherein game reviewer types are giving upcoming wii games the short shrift, like basically no collection of minigames is ever good enough because it's "just a collection of minigames that use motion control or whatever." I think the only things the gaming press can get excited about are mario galaxy, dq swords and metroid - which makes sense, but also seems to grossly overlook the wii's actual reason for being so popular.
then again nintendo has its own magazine, so it's not like Wii fanboys are the bread and butter of EGM etc.

Bah, I said that when the news first broke. On a Joystiq comment I said something to the effect of "If Sonic wins the high jump, or Mario wins the 100m dash, this game is inaccurate, unless one or both have started on the juice."
