golvellius i had for the master system back in the day. odd mish-mash of styles - zelda 1 overworld, zelda 2 dungeons, and these odd stages

which are like auto-scrolling shmup/zelda hybrid, but probably too easy to be as annoying as the concept would warrant

you don't have the interesting expansion of abilities like you do in the best of these games, nor any in-depth stats, nor any kind of narrative really — only really worth it if you are bored enough to think 'yeah, today i'd like to play a fifteen year old arcadey zelda clone'

I am very eager to see the results of this poll. I've only played one of these games (Illusion of Gaia, which I loved), and I'm gonna go on eBay and buy whatever game wins and play through. Unless it's Terranigma or Seiken Densetsu 3, of course.

you should play secret of mana regardless of whether or not it wins, because god damn what a great game.

I never would have categorized it as a zelda clone, although yeah, I guess it is technically an action rpg. But it doesn't really involve zeldaesque puzzles/gameplay.
