Friday for us, Boo.

JimD, Monday, 2 June 2008 02:22 (seventeen years ago)

ordered mine!

Ste, Monday, 2 June 2008 09:59 (seventeen years ago)

You all know the PC demo's been out since last week, yeah? I gave it a go, and it didn't like my joypad (so I'll definitely be picking it up no 360 instead), but even using keyboard controls it felt like lots of fun - basically it's more of the same, gameplay wise. But that's all I wanted or expected.

JimD, Monday, 2 June 2008 11:44 (seventeen years ago)

ordered mine!

-- Ste, Monday, 2 June 2008 10:59 (Monday, 2 June 2008 10:59)

Ditto. Sadly will take ages to get here. Definitely won't be here in time for the weekend ;_;

hyggeligt, Tuesday, 3 June 2008 10:48 (seventeen years ago)

Sweet, I didn't know there was a demo.

kingfish, Wednesday, 4 June 2008 05:00 (seventeen years ago)

Ok, picked this up.

Not sure how much the fun factor will compare with the ST ones, but I already like the music cues better.

kingfish, Thursday, 5 June 2008 05:58 (seventeen years ago)

Shipped!

Ste, Thursday, 5 June 2008 21:51 (seventeen years ago)

Mine has not even been posted! I got the bloody pre-order unlock for some character but where's the game?

hyggeligt, Friday, 6 June 2008 11:01 (seventeen years ago)

I expect mine turned up when I was at work so I will have to go to the post office for it tomorrow.

aldo, Friday, 6 June 2008 12:40 (seventeen years ago)

hmm, i'm going to have to check something on the internet when i get home, but I'm sure i've come across a massive bug in the game which seems to stop me going any further.

Ste, Friday, 6 June 2008 13:10 (seventeen years ago)

Appears to have been posted on the 4th! EEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEE

hyggeligt, Friday, 6 June 2008 13:51 (seventeen years ago)

well it was a bug, but i've got past that part now. This game is loads of fun. So satisfying just smashing shit up.

Shame the vehicle driving control is pants, the cars/bikes/trucks look great.

I've done the first two stories, now onto the Crusade story.

Ste, Sunday, 8 June 2008 00:39 (seventeen years ago)

two weeks pass...

So, this turned out to be a bit bland really, didn't it? I'm about 60% of the way through, and I'm not feeling hugely motivated to keep going. Might be more fun if I start playing co-op though, so I'll probably save the rest of it until I get round to picking up a second pad.

JimD, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 11:50 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah, really not that exciting at all. I have three to go through in Story Mode and have been seduced by Euro 2008 rather than finish it off, not least because Motorcycle Escape is maybe the shittest level in any of the lego games. Is it maybe that there are just too many special moves in it (small character, explosive character, shatter glass, thuggee hat, german hat, Indy whip, decode heiroglyph, high jump, fix engine) that you feel like you've missed most of the game out?

aldo, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 12:34 (seventeen years ago)

yeah, i stopped playing pretty much after my last post here and haven't had any desire to load it back up.

to be fair it was exactly what it said on the tin, perhaps the kids appreciate it more.

i didn't even know there was a co-op mode, which i'll never ever get to experience anyway.

Ste, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 12:36 (seventeen years ago)

i find these games always get boring pretty fast

s1ocki, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 13:46 (seventeen years ago)

What I found odd about the whole getting true adventure was that unlike Star Wars you could get it on Free Play which rather defeats the purpose. I'm going back now to pick up the last three or four treasures. To be honest, when you reach the point of 300 billion coins you know something is a little bit too easy about the game.

Also the Indy films really were a bit more spartan than Star Wars meaning there's less to really engage with imho.

hyggeligt, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 15:38 (seventeen years ago)

Yep, you're definitely right about True Adventurer. And it's hard to motivate yourself to return to a level just to hunt round for a few treasures. Especially when a) the locations of most of them were pretty obvious the first time round, you just couldn't access them then, and b) despite that, there's still often going to be one which is SO non-obvious that you'll have to resort to a faq to figure out how you get it.

JimD, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 19:47 (seventeen years ago)

Diagree with slocki about Lego games always getting stale quickly though, I played both the star wars ones for aaaages. So yeah, disappointed by this one.
