when/how do you find the time?

i love video games but i can't remember the last one i've finished. i just don't have the time :(

fall always gets me motivated to do more GAMING though, obvs

get the flu.

but really, by specifically not doing more constructive or social things like working on music, reading, or hanging out with my girlfriend/friends. :/ or by staying up too late.

left 4 dead is great for the time-strapped, i'm finding, my friends & i can carve out some time and do a campaign (w/a satisfying end point) in a little over an hour.

yeah i guess i'd have to give up fitness

i always feel guilty firing up the ps3 instead of reading a book

then i just end up getting stoned and listening to music anyway

yeah, out of all the things i use my limited free time for, gaming causes the most guilt

This is part of the reason I gravitate toward short-burst games, but then I just wind up playing short-burst games for incredibly long bursts.

my roommate, on the other hand, has no problem finding time to play all the games i buy and beat them well before i've even learned the controls

option one: the one weekday i have off (if nothing in my house has broken/collapsed/etc., which can be rare
option two: napping girlfriend
option three: terrible insomniac worknight decisions

option three seems to be winning out the most recently

my bf likes games but only really gay ones like call of duty and makes fun of the ones i have abt magical japanese schoolchildren. for sum reason this is more stressful than just having a gf that doesnt care abt videogames at all

This is a question I find myself asking a lot when on ILG (not "Is Lamp a woman/homosexual?", the time for gaming one), when reading about all these games everyone else is playing. I mostly read ILG while on my lunch break/quiet times at work, so it's not to blame for my lack of gaming time, but maybe once or twice a week I'll find an hour or so in the evening to play games. At the weekend I'll maybe find a couple of hours, maybe a bit more if I'm lucky/cripplingly hungover.

It took me about 8 months after getting my 360 to complete Fallout 3, and Gears of War I&II (all three of which I got with the xbox). When I see a game with "over 40hours of gameplay" I think "That'll be about 10 weeks to complete". More annoying that the 'when/how do you find the time?' question is 'what the hell am I doing with my time?' question. I neglect pretty much all my hobbies, but never have time for any of them. The majority of games I actually complete are DS games, which I can play on my lunch break, or on the train to go visit people, etc. Plus they're rarely 40hrs long.

I play when my gf has gone to bed but as that's the only time I really get to play, I always end up playing till late.

whenever I play games when its light outside, that's when the guilt really kicks in.

mainly i find the time by being single and not having a grown up job? actually the only things i've played this month are scribblenauts and a sort of sokoban thing on my phone and a v bad tower defence based on starship troopers

i think mb i have become a *casual gamer*
