bioshock and dead rising for me - presuming they don't mess them up - then BF:BC and red dead; still have to pick up red faction, batman arkham and nfs:shift from this year anyway

cozwn, Friday, 18 December 2009 22:21 (fifteen years ago)

yeah dead rising for me too, not much else on that list for me. other than mlb but it won't be available in uk i spect.

bracken free ditch (Ste), Friday, 18 December 2009 22:24 (fifteen years ago)

cozwn - what about Bayonetta?

Yeah, I still feel there's a lot from 2009 worth catching up with (and 2008), especially that those titles will start getting cheaper now - it would be nice if there was a pause in the action so we could catch up...

I'm very hopeful in regards to the new Splinter Cell, excited to finally be able to play Tatsunoko vs Capcom (and hoping the online works), Espgaluda II is the really big one for me, but also the shooters MAG and BF:BC 2 could prove to be big time sinks. And def, Red Dead.

Jeff LeVine, Friday, 18 December 2009 22:33 (fifteen years ago)

I cooled on bayonetta as soon as I remembered I don't actually like those kinds of games lol

what do you have your eyes on from 2008?

cozwn, Friday, 18 December 2009 22:36 (fifteen years ago)

One definite (Red Dead Redemption), one probable (Red Steel 2), one possible if reviews are good (ModNation Racers). I really want ModNation Racers to kick ass - the idea of a cart racing Little Big Planet is right up my alley. Hopefully it controls better than LBP; I wanted to love that game but hated playing it.

EZ Snappin, Friday, 18 December 2009 22:44 (fifteen years ago)

RDR is gonna be amazing.

Mordy, Friday, 18 December 2009 22:45 (fifteen years ago)

(Certainly way better than RRD.)

Mordy, Friday, 18 December 2009 22:45 (fifteen years ago)

Cozwn - I just finally bought Gears 2 (LOL)

Jeff LeVine, Friday, 18 December 2009 22:47 (fifteen years ago)

did they ever fix the multiplayer for that d'you know?

cozwn, Friday, 18 December 2009 22:48 (fifteen years ago)

I don't know, but people still seem to be playing it, so... hopefully I'll have some time to try it out this weekend. I also re-bought Bad Company.

Jeff LeVine, Friday, 18 December 2009 23:22 (fifteen years ago)

Yakuza 2, 3d Dot Game Heroes (out in May, but close enough), No More Heroes 2 are all day-ones; I really need to play the fucking Bayonetta demo already to figure out whether it's on that list or not. excited about (though waiting on a review before buying) ModNation Racers, WarioWare DIY, and RDR (trailer was 100% pure Do Want but trying to be realistic). also when is Dragon Quest 9 out?

Don't Be Nervous Talking 2 Lamp (jamescobo), Friday, 18 December 2009 23:41 (fifteen years ago)

I didn't get into the ModNations beta, but initial impressions leaking out today aren't too thrilling. If it really is coming out in two months, that doesn't seem like a lot of time left to improve things... :(

Jeff LeVine, Saturday, 19 December 2009 00:06 (fifteen years ago)

Perhaps not as AAA as the titles listed above, but Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth (Feb 16) is probably Day One for me.

Nhex, Saturday, 19 December 2009 00:18 (fifteen years ago)

On the downloadable front, Super Meat Boy, Muscle March and Mega Man 10 all look like must buys

Jeff LeVine, Saturday, 19 December 2009 00:48 (fifteen years ago)

it's really a ridiculous haul of stuff. People need to spread out their release schedules ffs.

fictional, homosexual, Baltimore hoodlum (forksclovetofu), Saturday, 19 December 2009 03:26 (fifteen years ago)

really need to play the fucking Bayonetta demo already to figure out whether it's on that list or not

ok, played the demo and am officially excited. I just hope the rumors of a patch to fix the constant shitty loading times are true.

two weeks pass...

Jeff LeVine, Friday, 8 January 2010 18:52 (fifteen years ago)

This game looks like serious ass to me.

mayor jingleberries, Friday, 8 January 2010 20:25 (fifteen years ago)

one month passes...

lol I've posted in this thread too; all those drugs, my brain's fried

so, yeah, to restate, the upcoming release schedule is unholy

a passing heavy daftie (cozen), Thursday, 25 February 2010 21:22 (fifteen years ago)

games I'd like to play, releasing in march:

Battlefield Bad Company (PS3/360/PC)
Final Fantasy XIII (PS3/360)
Yakuza 3 (PS3)
Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition (PS3/360)
Mega Man 10 (PSN/XBLA/WiiWare)
God of War III (PS3)
Fragile (Wii)
Resonance of Fate (PS3/360)
Metro 2033 (360/PC)
Perfect Dark (XBLA)
Just Cause 2 (PS3/360/PC)
SMT: Strange Journey (DS)
WarioWare D.I.Y. (DS)

I feel like I'm getting better at skipping stuff I'm not totally sure about. Most of those games do have something going for them, but yeah, who has the time or money? I'm definitely getting MLB the Show next week (and Espgaluda II is in the mail from Hong Kong), but I think that's going to be it for full priced releases until SSFIV and Red Dead Redemption. Will probably pick up Maga Man 10 and a few other small download things, but mostly, I'd like to find the time to attack the backlog, either Persona 3/4 or Yakuza 2. That's still a lot of gaming (also I'm really expecting to play the hell out of The Show the year and trying to put time into various Street Fighter games as much as possible).

Jeff LeVine, Thursday, 25 February 2010 21:35 (fifteen years ago)

oop, Mega Man 10

Jeff LeVine, Thursday, 25 February 2010 21:36 (fifteen years ago)

persona 3/4 and yakuza 2 will be better than anything else on that list. heard it hear 1st

von Neu! man universe (Lamp), Thursday, 25 February 2010 21:37 (fifteen years ago)

SSFIV isn't even full-priced! I want to hit Yakuza (1) and maybe a Persona sometime this year myself.

Nhex, Thursday, 25 February 2010 21:40 (fifteen years ago)

the only one of those i'll be getting is mega man 10. red dead redemption looks awesome, but i'm scared of super-long sprawling sandbox games.

rinse the lemonade (Jordan), Thursday, 25 February 2010 21:45 (fifteen years ago)

that's just the list for march O_o

a passing heavy daftie (cozen), Thursday, 25 February 2010 21:53 (fifteen years ago)

my list for next month is Yakuza 3, The Show 10, and WarioWare DIY; I have no idea when/if I'll ever get the time, but as someone who's been desperately clinging to fiscal solvency by his fingernails for the last few months it feels AWESOME to have money to waste on silly shit like games again

/no cobo (jamescobo), Friday, 26 February 2010 00:44 (fifteen years ago)

looking forward to being there someday soon

forksclovetofu, Friday, 26 February 2010 06:44 (fifteen years ago)

Now that we're actually in March, some of those March releases cozen listed that I was planning on holding off on are starting to look at lot more tempting. Fortunately or unfortunately I can only afford one or two, and one is definitely MLB 10 The Show which I'm picking up tonight.

Jeff LeVine, Tuesday, 2 March 2010 17:23 (fifteen years ago)

I do want 10 but I'm going to wait a little while to pick it up.
