I think aliens are the best because they are not doing this because they were ordered to or just for the thrill of hunting, they are just trying to survive, and they arent really that evil as they are depicted in the movies and such

I saw this at e3 and thought it looked like the coolest game on the floor. However it wasnt at the point where you could play it yourself so the demo was played by Rebellion employees. Its possible the game itself is a huge gimpy turd. Only time will tell.

They still have that arcade game in Portland. We beat it a few months ago.

i know this is made for multi-player, but i hope there are some good single-player campaigns. otherwise i'll probably spend a week getting slaughtered on xbl and give up.

Not bad! Still getting used to the controls. Predator is definitely the most fun to play as. Can't wait to see how the finished game plays.

i dl'ed the xbox demo and was hoping to try it for a few minutes before work, but the only option is 8 player deathmatch (and of course there aren't any games going on) ;_;

ok i take it back, i played as an alien and got slaughtered, but it was kinda fun.

it's kinda hard being thrown into the death match and having to get used to the controls, but it's fun once you get used to it.

playing as an alien seems kinda boring, except for getting to run along the ceiling i guess.

alien's all about stealth and surprise attacking your enemy. even more than the predator, ironically.

I know I'm repeating myself, but it really gets better once you've settled into the controls. I think they kinda dropped the ball by making the demo just a death match without any kind of tutorial before getting thrown in and killed every few seconds.

Seems like it doesnt work on PS3. Just keeps waiting for people to join.

tried the demo, and hated it. just seemed so lightweight and not nearly as atmospheric as it could have been, plus the weapons handle so weedy.

ya i played the demo and it was just kind of scary and awful. like i'd want to ever BE in that situation? would rather watch hapless marines than pretend to be one

Demo was a poor representation of the final product's strengths and it baffles me why any company would choose it to introduce people to the game.

The reviews so far have been more mixed than uniformly terrible. Though the reviewers that really hate it, REALLY hate it. The ultra-negative reviews just seem to be coming from an entirely different universe of expectations.

And to be fair it's an odd game. So far, playing as the marine, the campaign is tense and fun, especially if you're a fan of the series, but the gameplay's rather old-fashioned. The graphics are decent but nothing special, though the lighting effects and atmosphere are pretty well-done. Sound effects are likewise well-done.

Multiplayer's not as slick as Modern Warfare 2 or anything, but species team deathmatch is awesome. Controls still take a while getting used to, especially as the alien.

Overall it's a solid, fun game that could definitely use more polish, but it's not a disaster by any means. Definitely worth getting if you're an alien/predator fan, but if you're a more casual fan I'd rent it.

playing as marine is HARD

it's not tooo bad, but glad i got this cheap as in know this will be gathering dust within a few weeks. i only want to play as the alien, but they've messed around with the controls since the last one and it doesn't feel as fluid.

also, i know it's based on the franchise/movies but really they could have done better with the dialogue - why can't writers for Aliens spin offs actually come up with unique stuff rather than just stealing all the original movies plots and scripts?
