Unreal Tournament 3?

So has anyone tried Unreal Tournament 3 here? The system requirements to get nice graphics out of it are pretty unforgiving, but it does scale well, and I've been able to run it at a playable frame rate (with nearly every graphical option turned off) on a system that barely meets the minimum. Admittedly I probably wouldn't have bothered with it if I weren't upgrading soon, but for the time being it's been a hell of a lot of fun. Haven't yet bothered with the single-player mode, but messing around in the offline multiplayer with bots is really what I bought it for anyway. Standard deathmatch feels much more like the original (near perfect) UT, without the constant wall- and dodge-jumping bullshit of UT 2004, and the vehicle modes (Warfare et al) are tremendously improved with the new vehicles and hoverboards and such.

Any thoughts?

I'm really looking forward to picking this up next month on the ps3 - my computer is way too pathetic to even think about trying it on there.

two weeks pass...

I picked this up tonight and played some deathmatch and one game of capture the flag. And my first impressions are kind of mixed. I'm feeling unsure if the game is going to fit into the rotation between CoD4 and Team Fortress 2 - the two multiplayer games I'm enjoying the most right now. I definitely want to give Unreal more of a shot and try out the other game modes, but despite looking pretty amazing a lot of the time (I only played on maybe five of the maps so far too), it just felt a little empty - a little floaty? I haven't exactly figured out why I wasn't enjoying it more. Perhaps things will feel a little better as I get to know the maps and weapons a little more (though I did okay, usually finishing 3rd or 4th). This is my first experience with an Unreal Tournament game too...

three months pass...

New official map pack out today with three new (actually I guess two are remakes from earlier games) maps. FREE though (unlike certain other big name games chargin' ten dollars for three maps... hmph)

eleven months pass...

Free weekend on Steam if anybody wants to check it out. Servers are apparently getting hammered though... I tried starting a download this morning, but it wouldn't even start :(
