So, is anyone else playing this? Short version if you haven't seen it yet: it is Trackmania, only you are Mario and made of steak.
If the rest of the game holds up to the Xbox demo- and I don't see any reason why not, all the videos I've seen look amazing- this may be my game of the year. The PC version is coming out Tuesday after next, and as of today we know three of the exclusive characters: Viridian (VVVVVV), Josef (Machinarium), and Headcrab (Half-Life, for Steam orders) or Gooball (World of Goo, for non-Steam orders). The developers say the Headcrab/Gooball will be functionally identical to Gish, which makes me hopeful that PC buyers will also be getting Teh Internets levels from the Xbox version, since the second set of free levels is supposed to be Gish-only.

Sorry, make that four characters; forgot Mr. Minecraft (aka Steve).

I'm definitely planning to get this (when the PC version comes out).

Not now or ever, sadly. According to the developers, Sony was the only major platform holder that showed no interest in the title, so when they signed their contracts for XBLA and WiiWare both had language forbidding a PSN release.

About half way through the second world of this on XBLA and really enjoying it - making the levels so short is a great idea and keeps it just on the right side of infuriating (at least so far...).

PC preorders are available on Steam now. Getcher headcrabs, etc.

Ok, so today I got up to a certain warp zone and spent 3 hours doing its three levels (this wasn't even one where you have to do them all in one go). I suddenly got exactly what people meant in the compulsive v enjoyable discussion on another thread, and pray that nothing else in this game will be quite so ridiculously hard. Although particularly with the reward from managing it I suspect nothing will be.

I have bad news for you.

No, that's the one!

that doesn't look like even a little bit of fun

Then I salute you, sir.
The post-game Cotton Alley levels starring Bandage Girl are supposed to be insanely difficult too, but the Kid warp zone seems to be most people's controller-breaking moment.

Oh wow. The sheer pants-shitting NERDRAGE over on the developer's site over the late Steam unlock is just embarrassing to watch.

Waited a while on this for them to iron out the PC version's bugs; turns out it was largely unnecessary and most of the major ones were fixed 24 hours after launch. It's still embarrassing that it was released in such a state, but for a two-man team (with one programmer) handling their first PC release they did OK. I'm about halfway through world 3 and concentrating on unlocking characters (I've picked up Commander Video, Jill and Ogmo so far) and grinding out bandages (just hit 30 last night, which has unlocked the Headcrab at 10, "something locked" at 20 [presumably the PC replacement for Teh Internets] and Josef at 30). Beating the world 2 boss after over an hour of trying (yes, I kind of suck) might be my favorite gaming moment of the year- there's something about that One Perfect Run that feels like mastering a difficult piece of music and figuring out a magic trick all at once.

Yes indeed, although having just got to the end (well, the main one) today, I would say that the few occasions where you have to *wait* slightly ruin that feeling. Ideally they would have made everything so it's possible to never stop moving because it's so much more exhilarating that way when you finally pull it off.

evening, at friends, w/ xbox, dying all the time. had to stop playing because my hands were hurting! but wow i love a game that appreciates the multiple times you try and fail a level, and makes a pretty, bloody show of it.

Oh yeah the replays are the best of many great things about this. Have now got all achievements except the Dark World and 100% ones, think I might stop because I'm up against levels which I can't even see how to do, never mind actually manage it. At least that was obvious enough on The Kid ones.

this game is awesome

had to stop playing because my hands were hurting!
ha, yeah it's terrible for my hands. i can't help squeezing the controller super-hard on the jumps, and all you do is jump. that's probably the most nostalgic thing about it.

I mean, I really enjoyed everything about it except playing it.

can't play this anymore. fatal flaw = holding the right trigger while jumping constantly just about killed my forearm flexors.
