Anything after MM5 is bullshit.

Yeah, I've played like 2% of these and I even own that Anniversary Collection for GC.

I did play one of the first X games for PS, that was pretty solid.

another series i never got into. between this, contra, metroid, and castlevania i feel like a total heathen... but i never had any of them growing up, and whne i played them at friends' houses they were too tough for me to really enjoy on one pickup.

it's not too late!

2 and 3 are probably the best but I'm voting for X6 because no one else will. As I mentioned in another thread, it manages to be annoying difficult in entirely new ways for the series.

Differences from the previous games

* This is the first, and only, game under the Mega Man name to use live guitars.

The music for Infinity Mijinion's stage seems to be a tribute to Europe's "Final Countdown".

i see what you mean!

Mega Man X is also very good (but then X2 and X3 were exactly the same game as it).

MMX is awesome.. probably better than X2 and X3 if I played through all of them. In MMX megaman could get a secret power up that kills enemies in one blow. It was like the shoruken from Street Fighter 2.

And in X2 you could get the Hadouken (fireball). X3 had gold armour (pffft, who cares) and if you killed Zero in a certain place, X would pick up his sabre.

I saw Megaband (aka Contraband) play megaman 2 in its entirety last night while a dude beat the game on the big screen behind them. Exciting stuff.
