Well, there are loads that have been ported from the PC... any major PC game is likely on the Mac.

EA brought out some of their big games (battlefield 2142, command and conquer 3 etc), aspyr do a lot of conversions as well
― DG, Monday, 11 February 2008 21:56 (seventeen years ago)
ok so which ones? surely some of the conversions are better than others
tombot i BOUGHT weird worlds last month but still haven't taken the time to figure out how to play it
― Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 12 February 2008 14:38 (seventeen years ago)
Heh, I love Weird Worlds. Why the hell haven't I bought that yet... conveniently sold as a hybrid OS disc, too...

i have a pc for games, the only mac game i can vouch for is defcon which is worth £10 of anyone's money
― DG, Tuesday, 12 February 2008 16:05 (seventeen years ago)
defcon - "Requires: G4 or better, Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later, Intel native"
:(
― Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 12 February 2008 16:27 (seventeen years ago)
you can download and play it for free, paying for it just unlocks other game modes etc so all you'd waste is your time if it doesn't run
― DG, Tuesday, 12 February 2008 16:36 (seventeen years ago)
aside from defcon http://www.ambrosiasw.com/games/ most/all(?) the blizzard games the baldur's gate series for nerdy rpg

I have suspicion that the job ad in the original post actually has nothing to do with making games for the mac, and has lots to do with making games for iphones. If apple are about to take gaming seriously, that's where they're going to do it, because as a games machine (especially a casual games machine) it's got huge potential. Plus they can sell through itunes => no publishers, 100% profits.

G4 or better, Tracer!

defcon is universal:

― DG, Thursday, 14 February 2008 16:55 (seventeen years ago)
"G4 or better, intel native" means it requires a G4 or better, and if you run it on an Intel it runs natively, not through Rosetta.

$30... for a download-only game? And it's indie? Ehhh.... I'm noticing this is a problem with a lot of these Mac ports.
...shit, I should have picked up Orange Box for $30 off Amazon yesterday. Now I feel even dumber.
― Nhex, Thursday, 14 February 2008 17:55 (seventeen years ago)
Defcon is $30?! I'm sure I paid no more than $20 for it when it came out...!?
― Will M., Thursday, 14 February 2008 18:31 (seventeen years ago)

― DG, Thursday, 14 February 2008 20:13 (seventeen years ago)
