i could never figure out good slider settings last year though, in My Player mode i had 2 hitters going which were 1 difficulty level apart, and on the easier one i hit 68 HR in my first full season and the harder i was struggling to hit .200 with no power.

hmmm early reviews are negative, but they are every year....im not sure if im going to get it right now.

i wonder if they fixed the AI's pitcher usage this year. i had a couple games in 2k10 where a middle reliever threw over 100 pitches to me, and it was pretty common for it to leave the starter in for 150+ pitches if they weren't getting lit up.

I got The Show, I just play with the old-school controls. I don't give enough of a shit to try the analog stick controls.

Graphics are amazing, and I can buy the Polo Grounds for exhibition games if I can figure out why I'm not getting to log in to the Playstation Network.

I'm curious if Road to the Show is more reasonable this year - I couldn't hit well enough out of the gate to crack the starting lineup, and if you're not in the starting lineup you can't progress. At least as a pitcher you start out getting junk innings and then move up. Would like the mode to be more than "sign a new contract every X years" too.

i'm still waiting for mlb2k11 in the mail. i enjoyed last year's game, and the improvements in the fielding are enticing (they actually made the throw meter matter this year (if you land in the red the accuracy of the throw greatly decreases; the "landing circle" is way more sketchy with poor fielding outfielders; errors actually occur). i also really like the new camera after you hit the ball - it hangs back to give a hitter's perspective of the play. and if you hit a home run, it doesn't automatically inform you...instead, it maintains some suspense until the ball clears the wall.

i loved the pitching from last year, and they improved it a little bit this year simply by having the strike zone vary a little bit (you can nick the corner and sometimes the ump won't give you the strike, and vice versa). there's also a new slider for pitch accuracy. the improvements reduce the ability of players to easily paint the corners during each at bat, so more walks result.

me neither. with POWER at 50 i would blow out every opponent, but with POWER at 45 i would hit weak grounders to 2B on every other at bat.

got it yesterday, i like it. MINUS THE FUCKING FREEZING ISSUES PER USUAL IN FRANCHISE MODE. WTF.

with some slider adjustments this is a decent game.

what sliders are you using, chris? your own or someone else's?

i'm not sure if it's just my player mode, but whenever i make contact with a power swing, it results in a foul out behind the catcher about 50% of the time. am i missing something fundamental? is there a way to aim power swings or something? it's a bummer because i've met all of the call up goals except for .400 SLG, which i'll never meet because all i get are singles.

im using these. Also, yes, you aim with the left stick and swing with the right even with power swing....its also a lot to do with your timing ZS.

Just bought a PS3 and this game (after settling for the Wii version). Pitching went from aggravating to awesome in about 15 minutes. Hoping I can find a slider setting that allows for more singles -- close-to-realistic OBP without having to take a bunch of pitches.

"Hurry up" mode could be a bit more hurried, no?
