In light of N+ coming out for the XBLA tomorrow. Other examples might include Alien Hominid, or some other ones I'm sure I forget. You know the fairy tale, game gets big on internet, MS gets them to make it for XBLA, takes really long, probably lose money in the end because they get such a tiny cut of that $10, MS profits from quality games on their online service driving hardware sales and therefore boxed retail games... sigh.

That said I am a slimy hippie and intend to buy N+ tomorrow and it will be AWESOME. That'll put my games-i-paid-for-on-XBLA total at like 20

What is N+ and why is it fun? Why would it make me stop playing Carcassonne?

It's a platformer with awesome, minimalistic visuals, a really clever and sophisticated physics engine (you take a while to accelerate to full running speed, dying from falling based on velocity, not height), something like 300-500 levels, great difficulty ramp from "easy" but slightly challenging all the way up to hair-tearingly hard... oh, and you can try it for free. i think their site is "harveycartel.com" or something.

Yeah, the fact the original Every Extend was free is what stopped me playing any of the other versions.

Definitely thinking about n+ but too many games right now, I think - that 300+ levels is intimidating. Never tried the original version. It's also coming to the ds and psp in a few weeks I think, right?

For the rec after SMB3 and SMB1, I think N is my favourite platformer of all time.
