it'll have 4 drum tracks & 2 analog synth tracks, and you can hook up more than one ds via wifi! Japan only so far, but they have a product page in English http://aqi.co.jp/product/ds10/en/index.html video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rorBOzwR3Tc
oh yeh, WANT WANT WANT

oh hell yeah. looks fun.
― Jordan, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 17:19 (seventeen years ago)
That's the most exciting thing I've seen in MONTHS! I am getting this, and three other friends who also have it, and I am FORMING A NEW BAND and REHEARSING and WRITING and PLAYING GIGS and RECORDING AN ALBUM, you just see if I don't!
― JimD, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 19:18 (seventeen years ago)
Shush, you party pooper.
Music gimmick titles are always welcome! Especially the ones that don't even pretend to be games. That actually does look pretty fun to screw with.
― Nhex, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 22:25 (seventeen years ago)
lol, I wasn't being sarcastic! I really meant it, four people on a stage rocking dirty beats with their wifi'd Dee eSses would be great, and is 100% certain to happen at some point. And I want to be there first! :)
― JimD, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 22:31 (seventeen years ago)
^seriously!
Too bad there's not a way to import VSTs, additional banks, etc.

― webinar, Friday, 25 July 2008 12:32 (sixteen years ago)
A bit pricey... I can wait until October.
― Nhex, Saturday, 26 July 2008 03:44 (sixteen years ago)
it's available from 'sources' now and it's very fun!!
― webinar, Monday, 28 July 2008 13:31 (sixteen years ago)
dang
― n/a, Monday, 28 July 2008 13:55 (sixteen years ago)
I, uh, acquired a copy of this but it's not working for me. Is it meant to come with a RAM expansion or something? Is it even usable in Japanese? Might just wait for a proper English language release...
― JimD, Tuesday, 29 July 2008 22:13 (sixteen years ago)
it works fine fr me
normally the problem with in acquisitions is that your acquisition player has out of date firmware
is it an R4? have you updated FW?
― webinar, Tuesday, 29 July 2008 22:47 (sixteen years ago)
it's all in english btw
― webinar, Tuesday, 29 July 2008 22:48 (sixteen years ago)
Ah yeah, it's an R4 and I've not updated it for months. Ace, I'll try that.
― JimD, Wednesday, 30 July 2008 08:54 (sixteen years ago)
yeah, it wasn't working for me and I updated my FW and now it works fine
it's funnnnnnnnnn
― webinar, Wednesday, 30 July 2008 09:02 (sixteen years ago)
how much does this cost and how does one "acquire" it?
― n/a, Wednesday, 30 July 2008 12:15 (sixteen years ago)
I ws just being a tool; by acquire, I mean downloaded a rom
don't know how much a DS flash cart (the most common ones are the R4 and m3 ds simply) will run you these days - $30??
you can buy the official japanese copy of the game from play-asia.com and I think it retails at $60 - the US one will be out soon and will be cheaper
― webinar, Wednesday, 30 July 2008 12:41 (sixteen years ago)

― El Tomboto, Monday, 22 December 2008 22:56 (sixteen years ago)

― Desire: Where Sex Meets Addiction (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 23 December 2008 01:33 (sixteen years ago)
I just know I will officially look like the biggest genius in town when I sit in front of my iMac with the big powered monitor speakers and plug my Nintendo into it with a dinky headphone cable so I can make loops with a stylus on a tiny touchscreen.
― El Tomboto, Tuesday, 23 December 2008 02:22 (sixteen years ago)
Heh, that's kind of how I feel about it too... but it does look quite fun.
― Nhex, Tuesday, 23 December 2008 03:56 (sixteen years ago)
I imported, fooled around with it for about an hour and then thought, what the hell am I going to do with this thing. It's cool alright that they got a korg you can mess around with on a DS, but... it's exactly as useful to me if I'd bought the real thing. i.e. good for sitting in a corner collecting dust :(
― Jeff LeVine, Tuesday, 23 December 2008 06:00 (sixteen years ago)
oh i kind of love this
'song' function totally annoying though—you have to start from the beginning every time you want to listen through more than one four-bar section of yr track at once? gaaaaah
― thomp, Wednesday, 24 December 2008 00:09 (sixteen years ago)
was waiting to see if i was getting this for xmas but it doesn't look like it so now i can buy whoo
― congratulations (n/a), Wednesday, 24 December 2008 00:33 (sixteen years ago)
this thing is awesome, I'm totally going use the stylus/pad to play synth solos straight into abletonhow do we trade jams on internets?
― El Tomboto, Sunday, 28 December 2008 03:13 (sixteen years ago)
1. why does resonance get called peak? never heard of this before (makes plenty of sense though)2. why are they still referred to as VCOs/VCFs/etc? There is rather clearly no voltage involved here 3. arrrrgh only one effect for both synths?4. kinda wish there were markers on the VCO2 pitch knob for significant intervals, not that it isn't easy enough to find them by ear
― El Tomboto, Sunday, 28 December 2008 03:17 (sixteen years ago)
1 and 2 are to maintain (as far as possible) identity with the MS-10, right? (manual here: http://www.korganalogue.net/korgms/manuals/ms10/m1001.html) — not that this answers why they did it in the first placere 3 you can stick an effect on the drums in the drum edit screens — you can then add another via the mixer — if you had the patience you could map out a melody on the drum sequencer and thus have different effects on two melodic lines
what i don't understand: why applying the envelope generator to the pitch changes the base pitch anywhere up to four octaves up or down. (i am kind of new to this stuff.)
― thomp, Sunday, 28 December 2008 12:59 (sixteen years ago)
VCO 1 pitch only goes in octaves (to stay in tune lol) - applying it to VCO2 pitch should work for S+H noisy semitone wackiness
― El Tomboto, Sunday, 28 December 2008 16:59 (sixteen years ago)
didn't realise this had come out! will grab after work.
― grand ole challopry (haitch), Tuesday, 6 January 2009 03:17 (sixteen years ago)
Could pair well with a Kaossilator and a decent laptop input. Should be fun...
