i was really into df for awhile but after you get to a certain point (generally around magma furnaces) you're near exhausting the content and the ui is so ugly that it's no fun when it comes to stuff like equipping dwarves in your army or setting traps (or at least was too tedious for me to really enjoy)

i'd love to try space station which i hear is similar but apparently it not yet available on the mac

i havent played this game in a few years since micromanaging the diets of 50 dwarves got tedious quickly but some stuff in it was kinda neat. the world generator has incredible depth which is masked a bit by the lack of graphics

it's kinda like the challenge of the game is learning the game and then after you learn it, you've kinda beaten it

I have a moat, drawbridge, goose farm, a good silver crafts industry and a well trained archer army. I'm about to descend into a cavern and claim it.

Previously I've been attacked by one zombie whose chopped off hand strangled a wild boar, made it undead, then it went around goring all the other bores, who came at me en masse, swung my children around and smashed them against walls.

maybe i should start playing this again. sounds like they've added a lot?

XP. And a well. Can't over state how good wells are. I only started enjoying DF when I made a small world with lots of metals, which I know is cheating.

Mordy, interface is the same as ever but yes I think there are lots of new things like egg laying.
