I only just found out about SPACE MARINE for the Xbox et al yesterday. It is now my most eagerly anticipated game of 2011. By far.

Declare your allegiance below.

FOR THE CHAPTER! FOR THE PRIMARCH! FOR THE EMPEROR!

i have to admit, upon hearing the game title i immediately thought, "welp, they finally gave up"

What I've seen looks pretty good. But previews are supposed to look good, right?

Thunderhammer+jetpack=love. Though I'm pretty sure that combination wasn't codex approved when I played the game.

two weeks pass...

The PC demo is out today, and HOLY CHRIST is it good. This is far, far better than it had any right to be.

Also, the PC version seems to be the one to get- if the demo is any indication, it's fully customizable as a PC game should be, and runs incredibly smoothly with all the goodies turned on on a decent midrange computer.

As I don't have a PC, I'll be on the Xbox. And my live account is borked at the moment, so not sure when/if I'll get the demo before the game.

yeah, idk about this. the demo at least is a little too Gears of Warhammer for my taste

Yeah this was my exact reaction ^

RRRRAAAARRRRR. My account won't be back in action before this game ships. Must. Purge. Xenos.

as someone who spent an inordinate amount of time poring over white dwarf magazines stockpiled on trips to england, i am v pleased to see that this exists (even tho i have neither a pc nor console)

never actually played WH40k but i totally loved the mythos.

...i've gotta assume they're limiting it to orks and chaos marines because the inevitable sequel will give them a chance to roll out other races right?

Single player is fun so far with some obnoxious roadblocks to progress. Still trying to figure out if the combat "system" is awesome fun or too simple to really be a combat system.

No XBL (haxxored) so I haven't had a chance to try multiplayer yet.

Environments and vibe have been spot-on. The Orks are hilarious with their puffed up "Do you think you're 'ard enuff?!" combat chatter and design.

demo seemed like gears/god of war to me. i don't know if i liked it or not tbh

Having never played either of those, I don't feel like I've played the game before. Your mileage may vary.

a lot of ppl have played gears - enough that i'd be surprised if this was successful esp with gow3 on the horizon

Mordy, Wednesday, 7 September 2011 18:46 (thirteen years ago)

it was pretty gears-y to me too.
