― Doctor Casino, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 14:31 (seventeen years ago)
Of those, I think Ms Pac-Man, Sim-City 2000, Street Fighter II, X-Com, and DOOM are the most surprising omissions..

so great (also hard).
― Jordan, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 15:27 (seventeen years ago)
I think SimCity would probably be top 20 if it had been included. Actually, Oregon Trail would probably be top FIVE if it were included, because so many people have fond memories of that game, and then never played another except for Tetris and Pac-Man.
― Z S, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 15:42 (seventeen years ago)
Warcraft II
― Ste, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 15:42 (seventeen years ago)

― HI DERE, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 15:45 (seventeen years ago)
I am pretty disappointed w/ myself for not nominating CAPTAIN BLOOD, it's not like Trinity is gonna get any votes either.
― Gravel Puzzleworth, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 15:47 (seventeen years ago)
shit, Starcraft too.
We should a few days for more responses, and then compile an ultralist of games that weren't nominated to post on the main thread. For maximum party pooping.
― Z S, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 15:49 (seventeen years ago)
I'm sure we could of easily added another hundred games. Mass Effect Twisted Metal Black Ratchet and Clank sequels etc. etc.
― CaptainLorax, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 16:13 (seventeen years ago)
Can't believe nobody nominated Date Ariane.
― Noodle Vague, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 16:36 (seventeen years ago)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence
― Jeff LeVine, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 16:43 (seventeen years ago)
- Suikoden I or V, the only reason I nom'd two was because it was better than V only slightly...
- Dwarf Fortress!
- Street Fighter III Third Strike
- MASTER OF ORION 2
- Front Mission
- PAC-MAN C.E.?!
- MGS2 or 3, take yr pick
- IKA-FUCKING-RUGA... wow... Mars Matrix is nom'd but not Ikaruga. Mental.
- jagged alliance 2
- fucking... x-com enemy unknown
i'm sure i can think of more, but that's the top of my head! I dunno if i can find 30 games in there that are in my real-life top 150.

― s1ocki, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 17:27 (seventeen years ago)
castlevania: dawn of sorrow, i liked it more than sotn, and probably enough to have put it up there.
i'da possibly voted for a SNES bomberman title, unsure which though.
i wouldn't have voted for Ecco but someone on the other thread mentioned it... fair play to them.
i liked sonic 2 more than 1.
n+!!! so amazingly good it is in my top 30 absolutely, possibly my top 20 or even 10!
― Will M., Tuesday, 1 April 2008 17:40 (seventeen years ago)
I'm shocked to find out that different people like different things.

NV are you trying to zing me? i can't tell I'm just bummed about the nomination process denying a bunch of my near-faves.
― Will M., Tuesday, 1 April 2008 19:10 (seventeen years ago)
N is amazing! DROD is amazing. (haha tho both kinda suffer for me from that finishing them was among my proudest achievements and then they brought out more levels, making the game i played & loved seem retroactively incomplete?)
Is dwarf fortress actually enjoyable? It just sounds *so* austere.
― Gravel Puzzleworth, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 20:00 (seventeen years ago)
Dwarf Fortress is... well, I've been playing it a lot recently, and I don't particularly like roguelikes. It's just really severe getting into the UI. I wouldn't normally tackle that, but I was reading an awesome story about it (google boatmurdered) and decided to attack it... really, it's a lo-fi Sims game with dwarves and crossbows and shit. I don't know why, but I am loving it... even if most of my joy comes from watching the world builder, and picking a place ot make my little home.
― Will M., Tuesday, 1 April 2008 21:36 (seventeen years ago)
Thrust. damn.
― Thomas, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 21:48 (seventeen years ago)
i never played n+, but it looks like a DS version is coming out in a couple weeks?
― Jordan, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 22:03 (seventeen years ago)
i think it was delayed until july, and furthermore i... well i guess i'll just say i'm sitting on some knowledge that the ds/psp por+s aren't exactly up to the same high standards as the 360 por+.
― Will M., Tuesday, 1 April 2008 22:10 (seventeen years ago)
I think it would be even harder to play on those smaller screens (especially on the ds)
― Jeff LeVine, Tuesday, 1 April 2008 22:13 (seventeen years ago)
jesus i forgot to nominate Joust or Outzone, I would've put either above my initial nom for RType

which one of you nominated crysis? ;_;
― DG, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 17:22 (seventeen years ago)
Counter Strike.
― g-kit, Friday, 4 April 2008 15:40 (seventeen years ago)
and Neverwinter Nights.
― g-kit, Friday, 4 April 2008 15:50 (seventeen years ago)
^^^^^^^ oh yeah, duh
― HI DERE, Friday, 4 April 2008 15:50 (seventeen years ago)
I don't think Planescape even made my top 30. Neverwinter might've done, but there's something really grindy and on rails about all the Black Isle rpgs. I play 'em, but I don't heart 'em like Morrowind or Eye of the Beholder.
― Noodle Vague, Friday, 4 April 2008 15:52 (seventeen years ago)
I say NWN more for its modability, toolset, online play, faithfulness to D&D and its staying power rather than for the Offical Campaign that you play right out of the box. This game was fucking built to last like no other.
― g-kit, Friday, 4 April 2008 16:40 (seventeen years ago)
OK I get that.
Can't believe nobody nommed Mario Teaches Typing.
― Noodle Vague, Friday, 4 April 2008 18:58 (seventeen years ago)
Psssht, no way. Mavis Beacon forever, baby.
― Doctor Casino, Friday, 4 April 2008 21:48 (seventeen years ago)
NWN would have made my real Top 30. So would Shining Force II and SFII: Turbo. Others I probably would have voted for: Alone in the Dark Adventure Island Sega Tennis 2K2

― Curt1s Stephens, Monday, 5 May 2008 05:04 (seventeen years ago)
I rly wish I had nominated SimCity, it is one of my enduring games. But I had to pick one from each decade and I picked the Sims, and anyway I would've preferred SC4 over SC2000 which would have meant not voting for Oblivion and ARGH.
